This resort is a beautiful place. We were there from 8-20-8-28. The rooms are spacious, the staff is attentive, helpful and courteous.. My wife and I shared one of the presidential suites in building 20 with another couple. After day 3 our hot tub broke which was very disappointing. The hotel did offer to switch our room but since we were settled we decided to stay and use the hot tubs at the pools... The food in the restaurants was above average especially at Frida! I would rate this trip as a perfect vacation and would recommend this destination.

There is one thing i wanted to mention which was quite annoying, and that is, the resorts perceived desperation in making a deal for property ownership whether it be a time share sales or another vacation product.. There seemed to be a deal for whatever your situation might be and I found the presentation to be over the top hi pressure and intrusive. I can afford to pay upfront for whatever deal I might have been interested in , however when i told our sales person we were not interested he assumed we couldn't afford the price and went on and on with ways to pay until he got to the point where for $200 he would hold the deal until we decided what to do back in the states...The presentation just reeked of desperation and the need for the resort to get money at all costs.

I've been to Sunset beach 4 times now and in my opinion there is no where better to stay!! All the rooms are amazing and the location aids in great views from every room. . . . The one thing that made this trip UNFORGETTABLE was the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING service!! At the top of the list has to be Jorge Gonzalez @ the bar by the front desk, he was VERY welcoming, sociable, and fun hearted individual. He some how made everyday more enjoyable!!! I Know we will be back and I'm so glad Sunset employs such GREAT employees. Jorge keep up the great work and we'll see you in December!!!!

We have been to Cabo a few times and stayed at various places, but we just LOVED the Pueblo Bonito properties. We stayed at Pacifica a few years ago and ended up buying at Sunset Beach and have been back the past few years, this year twice! It's consistently wonderful, no surprises or changes, ever. The food is great, the service is amazing, and the property is stunning. It's large, but you can request the units down by the beach, and it feels very intimate.

People who have never stayed here before things to know:
1.) This hotel is on the Pacific ocean side of Cabo. This means you can't swim in the ocean in front of the hotel. We prefer this, because it means that it's a private beach, NO VENDORS or locals. You can stroll the beach and not see another person - very romantic.

2.) They have shuttles that can take you to the main beach for free via their other properties. You CAN swim in the ocean in front of those, and still charge drinks and things to your room at SB.

3.) Book transportation through the hotel on the website. The driver is OUTSIDE the airport terminal - don't get tricked by anyone inside. It's about a 35 minute drive to the hotel from the airport, which is an $80-$90 cab ride, so if it's just two of you, book the transportation through the hotel. They also have deals for groups.

4.) A taxi is $10 to take you into town if you don't want to go to Medano Beach via the shuttle. Taxi's are ALWAYS there waiting for you, very convenient.

5.) They say you can't bring your own food in, but you totally can. If you're with a family or a group and have a car or taxi bring you from the airport, have them stop at Costco or the grocery store on your way in - get drinks and snacks, coffee, breakfast stuff - all rooms have at least a kitchenette, suites have a full kitchen. You'll save tone of $ this way, as the store is bit pricey (unless you're from San Francisco, like us, then it's normal :)).

6.) The property is built into a steep hillside, which is why all rooms have stunning views. To get around the property without making you break a sweat, they have golf carts to take you from pool to pool, restaurant to restaurant, room to lobby etc. This throws people off, don't be thrown off - it's not a big deal AT ALL. It's convenient and you can call ahead from your room... No idea why people have an issue with this. You can also walk on paths.

7.) If you do all inclusive (which is a pretty good deal), make sure to take advantage of the other properties to get a change of pace.

If you don't do all inclusive, our favorite restaurants in town are Mi Casa, Alexanders, Salvatore's, and Panchos. Pueblo Bonito has good food, but we also like to venture out and party a little. Cabo Wabo has a great band and fun dancing to classic rock and top 40 after 10pm most days. There's also an AMAZING taco shop just outside the stairs leading into Cabo Wabo. A MUST do is lunch at The Office on Medano Beach.

8.) Plan to spend an afternoon at the Sky Pool... Best view ever, and really fun people watching :)

Hope this was helpful!

This hotel was AMAZING! Pictures do not do it justice!! i swear we got there and almost fell over... i love that its not in the center of town but away on its own!!! you can relax at beach or pool and not be harassed by little kids to give them money or people to sell you stuff! there were 7 of us and we stayed comfortably on the top floor in building 21 it was huge and had its own private hot tub and every suite faces ocean. the cleaning staff was amazing - every day we would return to a spotless suite. The food was good - didn't buy all inclusive instead got stuff from Walmart for 300$ it was a [--] ton! and lasted almost the whole time. bought duty free liquor and beers so made. The beers at pool are $4(little over price so what we did was brought our own clearly they didn't want you to bring them cause they want you to see but if you can keep it on DL you could get away with it - we did like 2-3 times other times bought when didn't want to be bothered) and drinks are more like $8-10 and shots are like really over priced $10+ but the staff are awesome and fun! oh one thing there was no oven in our suite! lol we didn't know till we went to put a pizza in and realized then. there are like 4-5 pool amazing! each and everyone the Skypool has the most amazing views!! This hotel was one of the most amazing place i have every been - the workers and staff take amazing care of the grounds and clearly there is a high influence for them to cause it shows in the beauty of the hotel grounds! another cool thing about this hotel is that you get around the hotel by golf carts - you call and they pick you and take you.. so much fun !! the internet at the cafe is weak at times but we got in the room and split it btw 7 which worked out nicely they say 1 device to internet but it worked out working for all $80 per week or $16 per day. food prices were reasonable all around and they have delis where you can buy stuff just more expensive than Walmart but nice if you need something small and dont want to take a whole trip to town. Oh $12 cabs to town from hotel.. not bad at all... and we would go to other hotels in town and take them back for 12 $ it must be a set fee by hotels. if you get in town the will try to charge more. over all this place is everything and more than we wanted. We will be back in 2014 and prob many more years to come.

OH SIDE NOTE !! when coming out of airport in cabo just walk straight out and find you person holding you companies sign or they will try to sell you their first born if you allow them..... they will say anything to try to sell you something like we are your drives- we got car service for under 44$ pp before hand with the hotel and our car service was just there waiting .. we didn't know about all the hagalor before hand.. BUT WE DO NOW for next time!!
