“AMAZING RESORT!”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

We just spent 1 week at Pueblo Bonito Sunset (Oct 16-23-2012 ) in a 1 bedroom executive suite. The only complaint we have is we should have stayed 2 weeks! We enjoyed the sky pool and had excellent service when ordering our drinks and appetizers. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless and fresh when we returned in the evening. We read the excellent reviews and negative /complaints prior to our stay and can honestly say Pueblo Bonito Sunset is a great place to stay. We did the couples massage at the spa and my wife did the manicure and pedicure which she says was better then the place she goes to regulary back home.
As far as the sales people trying to get you attend a presentation or upgrade, they are only doing their job. We attended the presentation because i had no idea how the time share worked. We purchased the all inclusive for only 3 days which was a good deal, because we wanted to go town and try the local spots. We are not big fans of buffets, so we only ate at the Bistro which had good food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are not owners and are seriously considering buying on our next visit which will be soon!

Room Tip: We stayed in building 24 which is a newer building and closer to the sky pool and sunrise coffe shop...

Vacationed with another couple in a Presidential Suite in building 20. The room (two master suites, shared living room/kitchenette and full balcony with recliners, dining table and hot tub) was very spacious, clean and comfortable. What was truly spectacular was the sweeping views of the bluer than blue Pacific Ocean. The resort is built into a cliffside and dotted with five beautiful infinity pools (the beach isn't swimmable, although the resort shares ammenities with other Pueblo Bonito resorts service by a shuttle, including the Rose property with a swimmable beach). We had our breakfasts and lunches at the resort and found the food to be better than average. We would suggest skipping the meal plan and tryng out the numerous dining options around Cabo San Lucas for dinner. Merket (at One and Only Pamilla), Mona Lisa, Ediths and NickSan were all spectacular restaurants. Don't be discouraged by some of the negative reviews of the resorts. Yes, transportation throughout the resort requires using their golf cart system, but we never waited more than 5 minutes. And we found the staff pleasant and attentive (whether or not you were on the meal plan). They do tend to move at a slower pace than the typical New Yorker will find acceptable, but remember you are on vacation. Were there some bugs, sure, but with the open floor plans of the buildings and restaurants, that is to be expected. Is this an ultra-high class resort no, but for the money its tough to beat this spot in Cabo San Lucas.

Room Tip: Choose buildings at the top of the resort for the views and proximity to the sky pool.

We spent a wonderful week at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo. The resort is away from the hustle and bustle of Cabo, but there are shuttles to go into town. The room we had was large and very nice with a small kitchenette and large balcony. The pool outside outside our building was quiet and warm. The beach is great for walking in the morning (or evening) before (or after) the heat of the day. However, there is no swimming in the Pacific here because of the undertows. The resort is huge and the site hilly, so there are golf carts to take you around if you don't want to walk. The landscaping is gorgeous. Would go back again in a minute.

Why do I give such a low rating?
1) There is a beach but you can't swim in the ocean.
2) There is no beach chairs so you really CAN'T enjoy the beach but you are welcome to LOOK at it!
3) The location is too far from town and always $12(US) taxi ride to go in town unless you want to be "driven pass town" by one of their shuttle to go to their other resorts at the other end of the town, then that's free.
4) The resort is so big and on several layer of the hills so there is no way you can "walk around". You have to rely on the golf cart service which comes when you call but you have to wait for them in the heat.
5) The restaurant is not that great and you pretty much stuck there.
6) This i what they do with the pool cabana. You have to go there so early in the morning to reserve it, I'm talking 7 - 7:30. Do you really want to wake up that early in your vacation? Once you got your cabana, you have to guard it too because the resort employee let those low-life guest steal them. Some one had done that to us, the low-life toss our stuff out on the floor and my husband loss his collectible hat, so he turn the low-life's drink table. Good enough he didn't punch them! I think they deserve it. Any how the employee, try to get us to pay for the drinks (haha what a training, right) and promise to find us another "shady spot" but he won't give back our cabana that my husband woke up at 7am to get it! So, if you decide to go there, pick which behavior you want to copy...I don't care because I will never go back there.

Demographic of guests are, middle age, middle income, mid-west American some high income Mexican over the weekend. Over weight, baby boomer population!

Room Tip: Seems like you can see the ocean from every room and they have 7 pools near by but I prefer the lowe...

Dear Guest:

Thanks for writing about your holidays in our development.

We are committed to all our guests to provide the best service, so we have strengthened our procedures to allow our guests to enjoy our facilities in the best way, therefore there is a regulation published in our pools asking our guests not booking spaces for the purpose of all to enjoy. We would like to inform you that by provision of Civil Protection Units the ocean in front of us is not safe for swimming, so we prefer to warn our guests by adding this information in the registration card.

We welcome your comments and hope gives us the opportunity to give you the best service.

Many Thanks,

WOW... This is the best Resort ever. The view was dreamy. We had a Large one bedroom with a Large patio and a Jacuzzi. The maid service, the dudes that drove the carts and the staff at the restaurants on point. I have been to quite a few resorts but I would go back to the Sunset 2 or 3 times a year.

We have been timeshare owners for over 30 years and this is by far the best place we have EVER stayed at. The sheer beauty of the grounds and the views from virtually anywhere within the property are beyond words! As you stroll through the grounds you can see the attention to detail not only in the maintenance, but in the quality of the materials used to build the resort. The public restrooms, of which there are many, were all impeccably clean with a wonderful fragrance. The furniture throughout the property were of the highest quality and all in excellent condition. The lobby, the cigar lounge, the restaurants and the pool areas were all impeccably maintained, beautifully decorated and just a pleasure to be in. The room that we were assigned to left us breathless. The room itself was spacious, beautifully decorated and spotless. The view from our incredibly large terrace, equipped with a hot tube, was just unbelievable. All of the staff, without exception, were attentive and courteous. They even have a beautiful large chapel (100 plus capacity) on the premises with Sunday mass service!!....This is truly a five-star plus resort.
Prior to traveling to the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach I read some of the negative comments made about the resort and the staff....it just goes to show that it is impossible to satisfy some people. While nothing is perfect, this place comes close!! The only issue would be that if you have serious mobility issues, such as being in a wheelchair or using a walker, this property may not be for you, as it does require walking (if you wish...through the beautiful grounds) or getting in and out of the modified golf carts that take you from place to place. This could be problematic and would certainly diminish the ability to fully enjoy all that the resort has to offer. By the way, when we wanted one, we never waited more than a minute or two for a cart to drive by and pick us up...in other words WOW...WHAT A PLACE!!

Room Tip: Based on how the resort is built I do not believe that there are any rooms that do not provide an in...
