My husband and I just came back from Cabo - stayed at the Villa Estancia and REALLY enjoyed ourselves. The hotel was so clean and the service was really spectacular - everyone was just so friendly and nice - it was awesome. What we liked about Villa Estancia was that it was quiet and peaceful - but also a quick walk to all the action down the beach if you wanted to do water sports or try a new place for lunch - and then loved coming back to the serene hotel. the really only down side unfortunately was this constant harassment about owning a time share. The Estancia itself wasn't too annoying but the surrounding hotels that are attached to the Estancia really - would not leave you alone. they don't take hints or body language that we are NOT interested. we just wanted to relax!!! We finally gave in and attended a presentation because they promise you free excursions and discounts - but they really need to find another way to attract people who are interested in time shares than harassing their customers. ( this one recruiter named Shane in particular was as sleazy as a car salesman) and it ended up not being so bad - but I was really annoyed for a part of it. at least we got to go to Lover's beach for free. but this was really the only downside - everything else - we loved.
Restaurants that we LOVED: La Fonda, Maria Corona, Mi Casa
Restaurants we HATED - ALEXANDER - its located at the Marina and it was so disgusting I returned my steak and they made me a new one and it was still inedible. I didn't want to make a scene so I just kept quiet but - really - its terrible. the people who work there are rude and have no problem letting annoying peddlers (ie: MULTIPLE guitar players, ladies selling roses, artists wanting to draw your portrait ) harass you while you are trying to eat dinner, interrupting your conversation - again - they don't seem to get the hint that they are not wanted and its creepy and annoying. the whole experience was awful.
BUT - anyhoo - we loved it and were really so sad to go. we felt safe there, and it was clean - and would love to go back someday. if you are looking for a wild night life - this is not the place to stay. the hotel is VERY quiet at night - but the bars and night life are only a $7 cab ride away so its really the best of both worlds

This is a luxury resort on a very nice location. Very close to town. Cabo's main street is under construction right now, but when they finish it's going to be easier to get around and will look very nice. This resort has everything you need but it is more on the quieter side and more suitable for older folks or couples just wanting to relax. The resort goes dead after dark. If you are looking to party look somewhere else. The hotel restaurants are definitely upscale with great food but little pricey. If you want great Seafood head downtown to Mariscos Mazatlan. Villa la Estancia is the better choice of the three hotels in the chain. Villa del Arco is the newest one with nice pools and better dinning options. I do recommend Villa del Arco's Breakfast Buffet. You can use their facilities also. Overrall I think you won't be disappointed if you stay in this hotel. I stayed here with my Spouse for a week and it was very relaxing, almost too much for a couple of 26 year olds. But maybe it was because we went during the low season and the town was dead due to the Hurrican panic - which by the way didn't even hit cabos. If you're going to cabos stay here you wont regret it. Oh, the Desert Spa at the Villa del Arco is wonderful. Spoil yourself in there. They have weekly specials so make a reservation. Well worth it. Oh and the Bed's at this Hotel do suck, they are hard. That's my only complaint
- my 2 pennies

We recently visited Villa La Estancia Resort in Cabo with our teens. We hesitated to travel there in the heat of the summer, but our rental agent (CaboLuxuryLifestyle) convinced us that it was a great time to visit. The ladies at Cabo Luxury Lifestyle were correct. They assured us that they too had visited during that time and loved it.
It is quite hot, but Villa La Estancia is on the beach and also has several pools and jacuzzis. It is a great location to easily walk to town or take a quick cab ride. The resort is beautiful with a friendly staff. Donna at Cabo Luxury Lifestyle.com helped us make reservations for a fantastic dinner cruise and spa appointments. They sent us a 10 page guest information packet that really helped us get to know the place and the area.
We will return next spring and will definately call Cabo Luxury Lifestyle for help in reservations.

Just returned from our sixth trip to Cabo; the people and the beach are wonderful. If you have never been only stay on Medano beach; much of Cabo faces the Pacific and is not swimable beach plus hotels on the corridor are on cliffs and the cost of a taxi to town round trip is almost $70. The hotels on Medano beach cost $7 to town which is ten minutes. We love Villa la Estancia and stayed in a ground floor unti. (We found it on VBO.com #200049). You have a view of the arch all day and after dark you can not see it so you might as well enjoy the ease and convenience of a ground floor unit. The owners rental rates are very reasonable and I highly recommend checking with them first. It is two bedrooms, three baths and a queen fold out in the living room. The Kitchen is great and we love having a washer and dryer; with work-out clothes from the fitness center plus sandy beach swimsuits you can really cut down on how much to take. I like their unit in particular because it has easy access to the pool and beach; ground level is such a convenience! Using stairways and elevators everytime you want to go to your room is just a pain! There are several great restaurants within walking distance on the beach. In town we love Alexanders but always go to Mama;s for breakfast and Felix's for dinner. It is a shack but he has been featured on the Food network over and over and has a salsa bar to die for.
Cabo is less crowded than Cancun or the Yucatan and more upscale although the cost is the same. The hotel is wonderful and everyone is friendly. The beach pedlers can be fun and gladly go away when you say no thanks. Beware of timeshare scams and when you arrive do not stop until you are outdoors at the airport; the timeshare people act like they are there to pick you up. We use Baja Transfers available in advance on line and have never been disappointed; they are owned out of San Antonio, Texas and have super vans and great people. Never Never late. Cabo is a short flight, coming from the Dallas area it is so much faster than Hawaii, we can be on the beach by noon with no jet lag. I highly recommend Medano Beach; If you can not get a unit at Villa la Estancia go for the Pueblo Bonito Blanco and thirdly the P.B Rose; both are very nice.Always try to rent directly from owners for the best deals. All 3 have swimable beaches and lots of great places to eat and drink. Enjoy! We can't wait to get back; although they nearly caught the hurricaine last week over all Los Cabos; (airport code is SJD) gets only 7 to 10 days of rain per year and is beautiful everyday and a little cooler in the evenings. Your cell phone will work and they accept U.S. dollars. Go and ENJOY!!!

We went down with two other couples (6 people total) and had an unforgetable time. We were located on the top floor one bedroom with a one-bedroom lock-off attached.

The grounds are well kept, the staff is soooo friendly and extremely helpful. The pool and hot tubs are lovely and the on-site restaurants are very tasty!

The only gripe we had was at an off-site restaurant called "The Office" located down the beach. We were told by so many people to go there...don't! They added food to our bill and even though we had a birthday and didn't want to celebrate it there, they brought out a big chocolate cake and charged us $35usd!! We argued and they wouldn't budge. Be careful and make sure you look over your receipts!!

Other than that - had a great time!

Let me start off by saying that this place is just simply spactacular. I just came back from a honeymoon; stayed there for five days. Upon arrival you go into a lobby to check-in. There are no crowds, no people, it is quiet and calm. We got an upgrade because it was our honeymoon. Room 1503, fantastic view of the ocean, 5th floor, high enough to see everything, with wrap around balcony. There are elevators and they come quick. The grounds are impeccable, every morning at 7am there were a lot of people cleaning, wiping, straightening out every beach chair and umbrella. Everyone speaks english so there were never communication barriers. I highly recommend the Parilla Grill - get the Pepito sandwich! My mouth waters just thinking about it. This is an adults only/timeshare/condo/villa style place = no kids running around. There is no loud music, it is just simply the best place to relax. Our room was the king bed suite, it was huge, and the bathroom had a jacuzzi, walk in shower, two vanities, separate toilet. Every day the maid cleaned the bed, added more towels and left two Evian waters with mint chocolates. On the beach there were lounge chairs with umbrellas, roped off so that the vendors do not get into your face. They combed the sand each morning so that the beach looked pristine. There was a security guard standing at the stairs to the beach to make sure no one that did not belong came in. The pools are awesome;as is the swim up bar. The pool is deep in one spot, and average height 5" in most areas. There is also a grotto with a waterfall. Another separate pool higher is also available. This hotel also has a market, every morning at 7am fresh bread, danishes, donuts, and rolls get delivered. You can also get lattes, coffee, cake, pizza, sandwiches. Great food at reasonable price. You can pay in dollars at the market but the change is in pesos. The swim up bar charges to your room only. Parilla Grill you can charge to room or pay. I would definitely go back to Villa La Estancia. It was simply amazing.

This is the second time our family has stayed at Villa La Estancia and it is truly a gem of a resort. The rooms are gorgeous, the view is beautiful, the grounds are impeccable and the staff at the hotel treat you like royalty. We have looked at many hotels in Cabo and this is by far one of the best. The location is perfect and the beach is one of the only swimable ones in Cabo. I will definately be back soon. Dont hesitate to book here, you will not be disappointed.
