“Wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is a 5 star hotel! We stayed in one of their apartment units w beautiful views of the beach. It is definetely a great place to relax and unwind. Very peaceful and quiet, great spa and fitness facilities and saltwater pool. Wifi throughout the resort and the best steakhouse in Cabo is located there. Planning to go back! If you are concerned about spending, save yourself some money and stay at one of their sisters properties, Villa El Arco or Villa El Palmar. This is a high end, luxurious resort for adults who just look to relax without kids around. Guest staying here can use the other resorts facilities, however guests at the other facilities cannot use this ones! I highly recommend it!

My husband and I admit to being a bit spoiled, with high expectations. For the most part, VLE proved to be among the best around.

Pros: The suites are pacious and very nice. The patios are large. The resort is quiet. Housekeeping does a wonderful job. The food at both restaurants was among the best we had. The resort grounds are in excellent condition. The Desert spa (just through a walkway next door) and gym/spa at VLE were amazing.....seriously. Most of the pool and restaurant waiters were excellent.

Cons: Check-in was not fine tuned. It would have been great to have a little more friendly greeting (a welcome drink?) and faster service (not enough help?). We arrived about a hour prior to check-in, and our suite was not ready. The beach views are amazing. The water is not really swimmable, as the sloped beach and deep water make the waves too strong for young children or older adults. As with so many places in Mexico, the venders are pesky. Despite the roping to discourage them near the hotel guests, they constantly walk by, ask, and disrupt your nap/reading. I know that this is a problem for all the hotels, not only VLE. The pool waiters do not make it down to the beach very often to take orders, so be prepared to get the best service by the pool.

Condos are very nice and roomy. Service is great. Everyone at the hotel has been really friendly. Food at the pool grill is good. First time staying here, but, probably won't be the last. Walk to Tabascos is easy. Taxis into town are 20 pesos or $2 per person.

We have been to Cabo several times before and I have to say this my favorite resort. We stayed in Villa number #1402 and it was beautiful and perfect for us with our two teenage boys! VLE is conveniently located close to downtown only a short cab ride. It think the hotel has a shuttle but we opted to cab it. My advise is to bring lots of $1.00 and $5.00 dollar bills for tips and cabs. The hotel does not accept cash to pay for food or misc. so we could not get any change for a $20.00 at the resort. Most cabs did not have change either. The beech is swimmable but can be ruff. Water sport are easily accessible to rent on the beach.
The highlight for our boys was Cabo JetPack which you need to reserve online or call them. Expensive but worth it! Great service through out the hotel!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 4th floor and loved the view.

Just returned home yesterday after a four night stay at VLE. This was our first time, but definitely won't be our last.. All the way around, this is a 1st class property operated by top notch folks that do whatever they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible..If you're going to Cabo to do all the activities off the property, then you might want to consider not buying into the $89/day/person all inclusive.. We opted out and went to Walmart to buy the "essentials". We did rack up a nice bar bill at the swim up bar, but no problema, we didn't feel like we had to eat every meal at the resort to justify the all inclusive price.

We had an A-B room. This is the 2100 sq ft model with 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and could sleep up to eight. Realistically though, it was perfect for two couples. The balcony patio was huge and in the summer would recommend the units that are in afternoon shade.. When at the room,we spent the majority of our time on the balcony..

The interior decoration was warm and inviting. The room was impeccably clean and the kitchen well equipped.

The split level pool is huge and with the smaller crowd made getting a seat at the swim bar very easy..

We have stayed at other Cabo hotel resorts, but this was our first in a villa resort. Once you've had champagne, it's hard to go back to Koolaid and VLE is top shelf..

My wife and I had been to Villa La Estancia 10 years ago for our honeymoon, and I knew that I wanted to get back there for the 10th year anniversary. I tried to book some vacations through VRBO, but never could find an owner that wanted to rent to us for only 4 days. That is when I found La Estancia Vacations online and it was smooth sailing thereafter.

Vicki was very professional, and she helped me to book all of my special requirements all via email!!! I will definitely use La Estancia Vacations again!!!

Stayed at VLE July 10-15 with our 11 and 9 year old daughters. We have stayed at VLE in Nuevo Vallarta several times and this was our first time in Cabo. Could not have been happier with the resort. We always enjoy unwinding at VLE and the Cabo location was no different.

Positives:
Rooms are really large, bathrooms are huge and everything is just very nice.
Good pool area - very laid back but large enough for kids and adults to co-exist. You can also access the pools at Palmar and Arco which are on either side and have more going on
Staff is overly nice
Pleasantly surprised with the restaurants on site. We actually really, really liked La Casona. By far our favorite meal. The Italian restaurant at Palmar is decent, but has spectacular setting right on the beach with views of El Arco and is worth it just for the experience. Patron at Arco was good too and, again, is right on the beach and the setting is worth the price of admission. La Parilla, the pool restaurant, has great pool food (shrimp tacos, nachos, etc.).
Good location near downtown Cabo San Lucas. $7 cab ride or a 20 minute walk on the beach.
The beach itself is ok, not great (See below)

Negatives:
As far as the resort itself, there are very few negatives. Room service does take forever (hour to hour and 15 minutes) and, like others have said, we got the wrong order once. Otherwise, no complaints.
The main negative to me was the ocean. While they say Medano Beach is a "swimmable beach," I'd tend to disagree. The waves are really strong and the undertow is stronger. People were constantly getting sucked back into the ocean and it was, frankly, scary. With kids, it's just not realistic to allow them to get into the water and we never felt relaxed while at the beach because the ocean felt so dangerous. We ended up staying at the pool because of it. The locals said we hit the ocean during the wrong time of year, but I doubt I would take the chance in the future. I certainly would not bring young kids back.

Cabo:
Cabo overall is very beautiful, very Americanized, and very touristy. Everyone speaks English and you hardly feel like you are in Mexico. The trip out to El Arco and lover's beach is worth it to see it. We kayaked and snorkeled out there also. Kayaking was good but really rough, Snorkeling, frankly, wasn't worth it. Too many people in too small an area in water which isn't clear enough to see much. All in all, I see Cabo as a good weekend/three day type vacation spot for couples/adults/college kids. Not so much for younger kids.

Room Tip: Realize that if you do not rent an entire two bedroom unit, you could end up sharing a balcony with...
