We took the short kayak and snorkel tour around Pelican Rock and the arch. Our guides were Jesus and Claudio. They took eight of us out into the bay in a small inflatable craft that was just the right size, towing the kayaks. After a short trip we all got into our glass bottomed kayaks and paddled out to the arch and then back to Pelican Rock where we all returned to the boat. The kayak portion lasted about 45 minutes and was fairly challenging for a couple of older folks who hadn't done too much in a kayak. We then were outfitted with snorkel gear and were able to swim around and observe the many fish in the area. Claudio and Jesus were excellent guides and very safety conscious, always keeping everyone on the tour between them while in the water. They knew where everyone was and swam by to check on us. Claudio provided an excellent underwater tour and pointed out all of the wildlife. I really have to commend both Claudio and Jesus for being so friendly and professional. Without question they knew what they were doing and enjoyed their work a great deal. Anyone who takes this tour should be in fairly decent physical condition. Not an athlete by any means but just prepared to exert yourself. It takes some decent strength and balance just to be able to negotiate the tiny ladder and get back into the boat after the snorkel portion. As good as our guides were it would be a lot of fun to be able do some of the diving that they did. I was not in great shape when I did this tour but it was still fun. After the tour a fine lunch was provided. Very reasonably priced and well worth it.
