Everything is special about this place including the price! However, if you want to splurge on a magical evening this is the place. From the beginning, driving through the tunnel and being met and escorted to Don Manuels for cocktails by the pools and ocean. After cocktails escorted through the charming walkways to El Farallon. El Farallon is situated in the rocks overlooking the crashing waves below. The service was impeccable, professional and everything was described in detail. One is lead to counter with a chalk board above describing the fish and cuts of meat. Each is displayed and you simply choose which you would like and how you want it cooked. You may add extras (chocolate clams are delicious, my first encounter). There is also a choice of vegetables. Appetizers and soup are included in the price. Be prepared to pay top prices for wine but hey, why ruin the evening with cheap wine!
This is a great way to top off your Cabo experience with friends are as a couple!

We had a beautifully magical experience in the paradise that is El Farallon. A table overlooking the ocean where we could feel the occasional mist as the waves surged against the rocks, and behind us hear the beautiful sounds of a solo man and his guitar as he played from an eclectic and original song list, as the sun set over the shimmering ocean. Ahhhhh...

The service was impeccable from start to finish. Unfortunately, I took some bad advice from an acquaintance and ordered us a pitcher of the spiced sangria to start. It was vile. A mix of lemonade, cheap wine and spices. Don't do it to yourself.

The system they have set up for the meal itself is precise and practical. Everyone gets the bread/crackers treat, soup and then the trio of starters. Ordering our own seafood or red meat from a selection on ice was a nice treat, and the chalkboards of sides was a broad selection that almost all sounded delicious.

The food itself was very disappointing. With the exception of the soup, everything was over cooked and over salted. I wanted so hard to love everything but I couldn't.

The dessert was delicious. They brought it complimentary for my husband's birthday.

We will definitely try again as our experience sounds more unique than not, and most certainly, the picturesque location and great service make it a wonderful experience regardless.

“Farallon” – a rock that came out of the ocean.

After driving through the chandelier lit tunnel, the only entrance to Capella Pedregal, we were greeted at the beautiful iron gates by the guard who checked for our name on the reservation list. The gates opened slowly and welcomed us to the beginning of a memorable evening.

A representative from El Farallon accompanied us on our long walk through the winding pathways of the resort. Every turn in our path revealed a visual feast culminating in our arrival at our destination – El Farallon.

We are two couples – friends for many years – never at a lack for conversation. But this time, there was silence. The beauty that presented itself to us, took our breath away. We felt like we were in another world.

El Farallon is carved into the cliffs over the Pacific Ocean.
We were seated at a table next to a railing overlooking the waves crashing into the cliffs below – spectacular.

The local catch is displayed on shaved ice. You make your selection. The selections and prices are displayed on a handwritten chalkboard. Each selection comes with a choice of two vegetables, soup, and appetizers.

The blending of tastes, textures and colors were different and amazing. As light turned to darkness, torches and lamps were lit – a quiet sophistication. The moon was shining over the ocean. The stars were shining on a clear night. Truly a romantic atmosphere.

The service was the best. Each course timed perfectly. After dinner we were met by a golf cart which transported us to the main gate, where our taxi was already waiting for us.

This was truly a world class dining experience.

Ok, this place is pricey - which driving through a private tunnel through the mountain lit by chandeliers and filled with art to get there should tell you. However, unlike many other restaurants who rely on the view and packaging to get you spend the $$$$, this place also offers you some of the finest seafood dining in Mexico. It will cost you $200 each but if you want to eat on a cliff hanging over the sea, have amazing food, and a view that will take your breath away at sunset, eat here.

From the moment of our arrival, until dinner was done we were impressed. The mythical tunnel we traveled through (lit by chandeliers and candles), the long beautiful walk and the approach to the cliffside setting were really beautiful. The staff was super attentive and very interested in helping you enjoy the dining experience. AND the food was simple amazing. I have never picked my fish for dinner and chose the parrot fish which is simply grilled - moist and delicious. My husband and I have dined at many elegant restaurants around the world but we both agree this is now at the top of our list. This is a MUST visit spot.
