The beach itself is great. It is picturesque and is swimmable. I didn't notice any riptides, but the current is strong as the water returns to the ocean. Be ready to be approached CONSTANTLY by locals selling their wares. You absolutely cannot relax unless you close your eyes and pretend to be asleep. There are many activities available (kayaks, paddleboards, water taxi, banana boat rides, wave runners, and more) which is a plus.
