This is a tranquil location near the marina entrance. Follow Boulevard Marina past Sandos Finisterra and park in one of the parking areas before you get to the Naval Base. At low tide it is possible to walk around some of the rock formations to more secluded areas of the beach. At high tide you can follow paths and climb over the rock. Use extreme caution. A good spot for children, swimming and relaxing. There are palapas on the first section of this beach (Playa Coral Negro) and wheelchair access at the turnaround near the marina entrance.

This is supposed to be a locals beach and heavily crowded on Sundays, but we were there on a weekday and had a great time. It is a relatively small beach but with gorgeous views and friendly waters. This is a good beach for swimming and kids can have a great time here as compared to the rough beaches on the Pacific side and even compared to Medano beach. This is a must-visit!

This is a sleeper. A little hard to find. Park near the Dolphins and walk in behind the Marine Base. Best early in the AM before the water taxis get busy. Really great Snorkel and diving. When the experts want a quickie this is where the go. Plan to arrive a 7:00 Am and be out by 10:00 AM.

We were staying over on Solmar beach, just a short distance from Cannery Beach (about a 5-10 minute walk). I really wanted a chance to swim in the ocean so we ventured down the road past the naval base one morning. When we got there we found only 2-3 Mexican families enjoying the beach. We easily found an unoccupied palapa and headed into the water. It was FREEZING cold, but that didn't stop us. Around noonish a bunch of locals arrived and I heard them yelling "Frío! Frío!" about the water temperature. I had been in the water for about 1/2 an hour by this time and was quite used to it and having fun in the waves!

This beach is a fun place to go for a swim in a place that doesn't offer much safe swimming options. The only downfall is that it may not be considered the prettiest views - the old cannery is sitting there and does have some graffiti - but hey, it's Mexico. I would definitely recommend checking it out for a change of pace!

To get here, go all the way counterclockwise around the marina, then go past the entrance to the Finisterra, past the navy, and you will find the old abandoned cannery. Keep going around it and you will find a pretty empty beach used mostly by locals.
