My wife and I traveled with some friends to Cabo San Lucas and stayed at the Bahia for 3 nights. We were imprssed with the clean, safe, and cool presentation of the lobby, the bar and restaurnt area, the pool, and the rooms. The most satisfying aspect of our stay was the friendliess and professionalisom of the staff. They made us feel welcomed, they made us feel comfortable, and they made sure that we had a great time. I look forward to returning back to the Bahia Hotel in the future.

I echo most of the reviews about the hotel specifically staff (after bell man very helpful) hotel is open so noisy does travel, the public areas are very clean, and this might be an O>K> place for 25 year olds who are out and about all the time, but don't think you are going to lounge in your room or at the pool (which most of the time is in the shade) also and I found very disconcerting, there are young people dressed in black tha "hang around" the bar and kitchen all day and most of th night, made me very uncomfortable. But we rented a condo for 10 days. My husband described it as a "flea bag" the moment we walked in. The bathroom reeked of uring constantly. The condo had a bed and a built in couch - there was no place to sit. There were two creakly bar stools at a kitchen counter - there were no decent cooking pots, I only used the coffe maker which was also suspect. That was the 1st condo, we were moved on our last night to a condo next to the elevator - never mind the noisy my husband kept on thinking people were trying to breal in dueing the night - the worst problem was the constant smell of methane gas - we spent most of the night sittling on the patio bedside the pool bar. This place was so bad it should have been condemned. Even ths hotel staff said to us we would have been better off with a room. This was my 4th trip to Cabo over several years (admitted) Medano beach used to be wonderful. We will never go to Cabo again , and this Condo should be avoided at all cost.

We stayed @ the Bahia the week after Christmas. We knew for the price we were not going into a resort or luxery hotel. We were put on the 3rd floor (which rooms after level 2 are not renovated) they are very old & basic. Went to the front desk after seeing our room & asked for an upgrade & they told us we could move the next morning so we did not unpack, which was fine. Went to the front desk the next day & he said he was still working on it & would leave message on our phone, long story short, it never happend & they never made an attempt to even tell us they were unable to accomadate us. Hot tub was cold & there was alot of traffic noise by our room. It did seem as another guest stated they were more into their crowd. It is in a great location, couple blocks to the beach where there are comfotable lounging chairs & wait staff, close walking distance to the marina. All in all the hotel was ok, especially of you are out & about most of the time.

I stayed there with a group with more than ten rooms and never heard a mentioned of unhappiness.
The newly remodeled rooms have a great appointment and the staff bends over backwards. If you need anything in the morning hours (day light) ask for "Anthony." He will not only take care of your needs, he will not over step the boundaries that we "Westerners" are use to.
If you are staying or not staying, I highly recommend the short ribs at the restaurant. They are definitely worth "staying on campus" for the evening and unexpected in the region.
If you are lucky enough (or an early enough riser) you can arrange a very nice paddle surfing experience with the owner, Lee (though his wife is better looking in a wet suit.) If you can be trusted, he will even let you take his treasured labrador retriever out with you.
Lee - I will see you again.
This hotel is meant for adults with other plans. No 24/7 room service, no all access internet, no children friendly activities. All of which was acceptable for this adult business traveler.

Having spent a week in a beautiful oceanfront villa, we decided to stay an extra wknd and wanted to find a hotel on the beach. When we found Bahia on line we were SO excited - it was under new ownership, was in middle of renovations, it looked great, price was right. Such a let down. Has great potential and if they pay attention and figure it out, it can be. To the point-
- Perfect if you're in your 20's and want that South Beach feel and don't care AT ALL about room itself.
- NOISY. do not stay in 1st floor rooms, or anywhere near elevator, and from what we heard from others, it applies to rest of the hotel also. Hotel is open & stark and sound echoes, so if you go to sleep before 4a, you're in trouble. The bar guests' voices carry through the hotel hallways. We called front desk 4x in 2 days to complain, esp. on our first night when people came home at 330a and wanted to hang in jacuzzi partying w/o any regard for other guests. Apparently security didn't care and didn't want to disturb them!
- Rooms have ZERO extra amenities - kitchen area, but no cups, etc., not even a pad/pen!
- POOR customer service - i.e. asked them to book a car rental for us for noon. When we went to lobby at 1130a to confirm we discovered she never even called.
- OUTSTANDING NEW RESTAURANT - ESQUINAR - 5*
Bottom line - great potential, but right now it seems to be a place catering to the owners and their friends hanging out. It doesn't seem to be a hotel that's actually trying to be a serious hotel, nor is there anyone there that cares if it is or isn't.
