I want to thank Miguel for a fishing trip my kids and I will never forget. Thanks for accomodating our special day, it seems we caught the fish and my wife loved the yacht, she felt like a princess. My son Carter caught his first marlin and we were happy to share the 6 tuna we caught with the crew, since we had dinner at Captain Tony's later. The prize for me was catching a 120 lb shark and letting the kids "ride the shark" after it was dead..... had to be careful with the sharp teeth still.... I can't wait to get back to Cabo and fish with Miguel this October.... thumbs up Dave.....

That was a great fishing day and the crew and I had a good time too. The fishing the past week or so has been pretty good and they are biting well, finally, after a disappointing winter and spring from mid December up until a couple weeks ago. Cold green water wrecked havoc on the fishing and made it tough for the entire fleet. Lots of wind too. We had good fishing from time to time, but generally not like it should be. Now that the water has finally settled in, nice and blue and the mid 80's, the fishing has improved a lot. We are catching marlin, tuna, sharks, and dorado. Two days ago, we caught two dorado 60lbs, and one 40lb. Plus yellowfin tuna. The fish are finally co-operating like they usually do.

We expect the fishing to be good and gettting better throughout the season as the water warms. It can get pretty easy to catch fish when the conditions are right.

Thanks for the review,

Dave

The Winner 7 is a very nice boat to spend the day on the open ocean. It is large enough to take some waves and not get tossed around like some of the smaller boats that were available in the marina. Even though we did not catch any fish this day, the opportunity was enjoyable as was the crew. Cathy made sure we were taken care of with food and drink, and the crew was very helpful and really tried their best to put us in the best spots in order to succeed. That is why they call it fishing....and not catching! Heavy winds and rough seas this day made it difficult for almost all boats this day to catch fish. Overall I would definitely use the Winner 7 again, just during the better fishing season.

I was with Marlene on the Winner 7 last week and let me tell you it was the best experience. We fished, ate, sunbathed and had a great time laughing with each other. Would use them again in a heart beat. The Winner 7 made 2 boys who just graduated highschool very happy along with the other 6 of us. Captain Dave was a great guide telling us about the area and the fish. Thank you.

We had a good time with this group. HIgh school graduation present was a Cabo fishing trip. All I got was a Timex.

Each guy caught a 30 lb fish, a rooster and a dorado. They dared each other to eat the heart and they finally did. Although we offered them wasabi and soy to go with their hearts, they had em plain. They'll remember that.

BTW, we have nice fresh sashimi if you would rather have that instead!

I have been fishing in Cabo many times and nothing compares to the Winner 7.
Dave and his crew made us feel very welcome with muffins, fruit and breakfast burritos. We were taken care of from the time we arrived until our fish was at the restuarant Dave recommended for our dinner later that evening.
There was something for everyone to do. Drinks, snacks, sun deck up front. We even went snorkeling in the afternoon. We had two teenage boys on the boat and they each caught a fish. A dorado and a Rooster fish. A lot of boats got nothing that day so we were quite pleased. I will definetly use them again.

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, 8:00 am., we, 6 of us, met the owners and crew of the "Winner 7", Dave, Kathy, Pablo & Miguel. We boarded the 52' Hatteras and immediately felt welcome. The yacht was clean and very well equipped for fishing!
Kathy started feeding us right away. We had fruit and muffins and then when we were underway she cooked up some delicious scrambled egg burritos. There was a cooler full of chilled water, pop and beer and if we wanted anything else we just had to ask.At 9:00 am. we had our first hit - Sue took the chair and she reeled in a beautiful 10 lb. yellow fin tuna. Pablo headed to the galley with it and made us delicious sashimi - it does not get any fresher!
We then had freshly made guacamole and chips and were enjoying a beverage when we spotted a Marlin. This is very exciting if you have not seen this!!! Pablo and Dave were casting the live bait lines to draw them in and Miguel was heading right for them when "bam" we got one hooked - all hell broke loose - all the other 9 plus lines have to come up and Barry took the chair. It was about 140 - 150 lbs. and gave a good fight. We had the option to keep or release, but it was so beautiful Barry chose to release it.
Then we were served chicken burritos, once again delicious! We saw a few more Marlin and they tried their hardest to get them to bite, Kathy even did her best Marlin dance, but they just weren't biting any more. Not their fault. We were more than satisfied with our day.
A little after 2:00 pm. we were heading back in when Dave dips into the live bait tank and starts winging the fish around. The birds started flocking the boat. Then a huge, gorgeous Sea Lion swims onto the swim grid and we are petting it and feeding it the fish. Unbelieveable! All the other tour boats came around to take pictures. What a thrill!
We had a variety of seas that day, from calm to a good ground swell. A few times we were taking them on the side and the "Winner 7" handled them very well. We would not have been comfortable in a smaller vessel .
Our daughter, Rachel, found "Winner 7's" web site and was very impressed. They lived up to everything they said they had to offer. Dave called the house to make all the arrangements and it was great that there was no language barrier!
Can cross that one off the Bucket List!!
