“Amazing/Asombroso!”

Staying at the Bungalows was a treat and we'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for an authentic B&B experience in the heart of Cabo. We generally do the all inclusive thing, but we wanted to try something different for our second visit. I read many reviews before deciding to book The Bungalows for our 5-day vacation. First let me say how much we really appreciated the detailed information about the hotel that came by email prior to our arrival. In addition to helping us set up our airport transportation, they carried our heavy bags to our room and greeted us with fresh juice. I can safely say I've never been hugged upon arriving at any other hotel. It made us feel very welcome, like we were at home with family. We decided on a hammock suite, which was a two bedroom (comfortable king, queen and single bed), so we had more than enough room for the two of us. The suite featured kitchenette with a cold fridge, microwave, bar/eating area and a good size patio with hammock that overlooked the back of the hotel, pool/breakfast area. I heard someone complaining about the stairs up to the rooms but that wasn't an issue for us and quite do-able for those without mobility issues. Their daily breakfast, which was outstanding, is served from 8-10 AM with fresh fruit, fruit juice or smoothies, extraordinarily good coffee and a tasty 'main course' (included everything from waffles to eggs benny). We appreciated not having to go far for our first meal of the day, especially if we'd had a late night. I was also very grateful that they offered us breakfast the day we had to check out, despite having to leave right away. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the downtown/marina area and some of it is uphill, but not too strenuous. They have a pool area, which we didn't use as we opted to walk to the beach but many people did. The grounds are clean and we felt secure at all times (they lock the main gate at night and give you a code to enter). The only thing that was a little hard to get used to was the noise in the morning. We have a sound proof room at home, so we're a bit sensitive but between the roosters, birds, cars and construction, it wasn't conducive to sleeping in unless you're a sound sleeper or have ear plugs. We didn't mind so much though as we wanted to be sure we got up to enjoy the day and we didn't want to miss breakfast. The staff and owners are very friendly Carina, Erik and Bento (sorry if I misspelled). They never made you feel like you were bothering them or putting them out with your requests. They helped others make dinner reservations, called taxis and arranged for tours. Thanks for a great stay. We hope to visit again soon.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues, be sure to make them aware, so they can book suitable accommodation. Th...

This was a great place to stay in Cabo. Family run boutique hotel, close to downtown and the Marina and easily accessible by car.
Erik the manager was so welcoming and they truly go out of their way to make you feel at home. They offer complimentary breakfast, heated pool and beautiful well equipped rooms.
Such a relaxing place, I can’t wait to go back.

What a hidden little gem this place is! From the moment we arrived (to the phrase, "first off, welcome home!" and our first hug of the trip) we were hooked on this place. Charming, quiet, quaint, it DID indeed feel like home. The morning breakfasts are to die for...all of the options delicious in taste and presentation. Smoothies and fresh juice to accompany....combined with the thickest, tastiest coffee outside of our own kitchen, each morning started off right. Easy walking distance to anyplace you want to go to. We even walked to the opposite end of the marina one afternoon without any problem. A little secret or two: the Penny Lane Cafe up the hill about a block from The Bungalows has a farmers market each Wed and Sat. Go!!!! Also, if you continue up the hill through the gate (just walk on the left side like you belong there) you will wind up the hill farther to see some spectacular homes and views of both the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez. (we walked up to the very top and watched boats, birds and whales for hours one day).
A very safe neighborhood (never felt uncomfortable at all). Coffee and juice are offered (to mix with your tequila) anytime of day. Hugs abound....from Allie and the others on staff. Be ready! (if you give good hugs in return they will seek YOU out too). The pool is often shaded, but that was okay with us...we got our constant sun by walking, climbing the hill to Pedregal, going to the beach, etc.
The rooms are so cozy and quaint. You have a small kitchenette, a futon, small table, comfy bed and a roomy shower. Nothing more needed. We would go back here in a heartbeat!!!

Once again, THANK YOU Bungalows! This was our 5th time at this amazingly wonderful and relaxing Bed & Breakfast! We would never stay anywhere else in Cabo. Sincerely.
We were in a regular cozy suite the first night as the Bungalow we had for the remainder of the trip was not available....we knew this coming down though, and it was no problem at all. 3 of us fit quite comfortably in the cozy room before moving into our Bungalow quite promptly the very next morning.
Erik as usual was full of hugs and love every morning at breakfast....always a great start to your day :)
Breakfast was WONDERFUL everyday....the pool area was a FABULOUS little oasis....and the rooms were super clean & super comfortable as always.
We will be back again & again & again!

Room Tip: Stay in a Bungalow.....you will NOT regret it!

The bungalows hotel is just lovely! We arrived early in the morning - you can't help but sigh as you walk through their front door, it is lush, colourful and inviting - our room wasn't ready yet but the staff invited us to stay for a delicious breakfast and to relax by the pool while we wait. She said there is one rule we must know, it is a family run hotel so we need to make ourselves at home. The hammock bungalow we stayed in was beautiful! So airy and clean, the decor and furniture were so well chosen, I actually said to my partner I wish our home looked like it! Although the hotel is not particularly close to the beach, the kitchen is only open in the morning and it is actually a fairly costly stay, I would absolutely stay there again and again if visiting Cabo. The staff were so welcoming and loving, the whole place just screamed character, charm and you could tell a lot of care is taken in executing the hotel life.

The staff was very nice here and we had a lovely time. We had a hammock suite and it was really cute. There was a dvd player in the room and the hotel had plenty of DVDs to borrow. We had some problems with the wifi in the room - it was much better in the breakfast area. Speaking of breakfast - it was fantastic! We had pancakes, fritattas and great Mexican breakfast dishes. We also had freshly squeezed juice every day - watermelon, mango smoothies, pineapple, etc. We are big walkers, so we walked down to Cabo every day. There is a hill and it is good exercise. Great price for the room and it was a very clean place.

I'm sure he'd be just as big a star in the guise of a Luche Libre wrestler but luckily for all of us Erik chose to lead the team that run The Bungalows in Cabo San Lucas. And I've been on the receiving end of one of his bear-hugs so I know what I'm talking about! Charming, charismatic and able to effortlessly multi-task, it soon became clear that many of the guests had stayed there before and regarded this particular manager as a genuine friend.

He'd berate me for saying it but the hotel's not just about Erik!
It's a tranquil haven a short but rewarding walk away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Cabo. We had the honeymoon suite (as it was indeed our honeymoon) which had a vast balcony complete with hammock and a glimpse of the sea. More than enough space inside, and an endless supply of bottled water, coffee, and clean towels. And the breakfasts! Well they could have a whole review to themselves! but you get the idea.

We felt we had stuck gold with finding this place as resorts are not our thing, and would definitely stay here again. (Angela & Toby)
