I wasn't sure what to expect of a resort named after Lawrence Welk--my memories from childhood were that of old people dancing. But now that I have stayed here, I'm happy to my image of Lawrence Welk updated to represent modern, beautiful properties and excellent service.

The resort must have the best view in Cabo. It sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean, where all the rooms can see (and hear) ocean waves pounding against a rockly cliff. From the main pool/restaurant/bar area, Los Arcos can be seen in the distance, a particularly magnificent site at sunset.

There are two (or was it three) infinity pools in this area, where it looks like the edge of the pool merges into the ocean. Two bars (one a swim-up bar) and lounge chairs make it a transcendent place to lie out under the sun or stars.

Although the resort is on a beach, you can walk down a set of stairs carved against (and through) the cliff to reach a secluded beach on a cove, which has both a pounding surf but also a protected area for swimming. The view is spectacular.

And the rooms are also spacious, modern and comfortable. You enter through a living room/kitchenette with a flat screen TV and DVD, then walk by the well-appointed bathroom, to the sleeping quarters, with another flat screen as well as access to an outdoor deck. The sleeping room in nice-sized--not humongous but plenty large.

Service was excellent, with good restaurant, bar, and bell service, and an informative front desk.

The only slight negative might be that you need to drive to get anywhere--it's 5-10 min from downtown Cabo. We had a car so it was not a problem.

It's also a bit tricky to find the entrance. You need to be on the service road on the right of the main freeway in the direction from Cabo San Lucas to the main airport (San Jose del Cabo). If you are coming from Cabo San Lucas, you need to get to the right hand service road right after you pass the first bridge straddling the freeway that comes after the Costco, and look for the sign for the right turn to the hotel (it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention). Alternatively if you are coming from the airport, you need to get to the right and cross over the freeway on that bridge, which you'll see right after the Home Depot, and then look for the sign,

My husband convinced me to try a time share as an alternative to a hotel, ( my preference is The Ritz Carlton) in April. What an amazing experience!! We had such a wonderful experience we have come back within 6 months for another week! Better than The Carlton! Manny the entertainment director is hysterical and fun and so out going! Alejandro the General Manager is involved in EVERY detail and willing to help with ANY request you have! the views are world class and the massage over looking the ocean with the breeze and the sounds of the waves makes you fall asleep in relaxation! Time stands still while the stress of the office rolls off your shoulders...

Room Tip: second floor and above. In A suites if possible, the kitchens are amazing,

Awesome views even from the first floor! Wonderful staff....thanks to Domingo, Carlos, Antonio, Manny. Our first time here and we are coming back! Public transportation is less than a dollar to the Marina verses the high cab fare. So easy to get around.

Lots of places in Cabo are beautiful, but the staff here are absolutely wonderful. Carlos and Angel at the pool bar are some of the nicest people one could hope to meet.

This is the best place in Cabo to stay. First off the view is second to none. Every single room has an ocean front view. The staff is amazing. You get greeted by Domingo at the curbside with a smile every time. Antonio at the front desk has a wonderful boisterous laugh and will bend over backwards for your needs. Gina at the Concierge desk will spend hours trying to make your vacation perfect. The resort is like your own piece of heaven. Quiet, private and VERY Exclusive!!!! No chaos, just finding your zen space sitting poolside at the infinity pool, having Angel bring you a Pina Colada. The rooms all have their own kitchens so you can eat in if you want, or catch a cab and head into town which is only ten minutes away. We shopped at Costco (8 minutes away) and were able to grill down by the pool on the grills provided by the resort. Folks...this is the BEST kept secret here in Cabo. We now are on our second time here and have just finished booking our trip for next year. This is the place for a perfect "girls week" or a romantic couples time.

Room Tip: No problems getting a GREAT room. All have ocean views
