Found this all inclusive VDP package on a Facebook ad. We bought the trip in early September with the understanding that there were no black-out dates - anytime there was availability we could book our trip. When we called in late September to book the trip for the week before Christmas we were told there was an additional $200+ fee because of the season. After several phone calls, plenty of persistence, and more patience than either of us thought we had - we read the small print only about a hundred times to find the non-existent "clause" they were referencing, they finally agreed to schedule our week when we wanted and NOT charge us the additional fee.

Part of our deal - the dreaded timeshare presentation. The morning after arrival you get the timeshare presentation out of the way and it's only to last about 90 minutes. It only lasts 90 minutes if you BUY! If you say no, double the time. At introduction, they tell you that if you say no, no problem, we part as friends. However, it took an additional 90 minutes of us firmly (we never waivered) and diplomatically saying NO before we finally got out of there. Sales is a numbers game - give enough presentations, you'll meet your sales goals. So, shoot for a certain number of no's and you'll get the yes's you want/need. We actually had to explain this to the sales person to encourage her to move on to her next potential sale. We were captive from 9:30 until nearly 1:00. Just so you know. Once you get past that, you can see that is the price you pay for the discounted rate of the all-inclusive stay.

From then on, the stay was EXCELLENT! Clean room, excellent food, nice people, fun activities - EXCELLENT!!! We would absolutely return and take family/friends with us! We para-sailed, snorkeled, took the water-taxi over to Lover's Beach, had massages on the beach and in town, ate fabulous food - Tortuga's food is fantastic! Everyone from the hotel staff to the vendors on the beach were wonderful! It was a fabulous experience!

Important TIP - upon arrival at the SJD airport: Walk straight though every set of doors until you are outside!!! Do NOT let anyone between customs and the fresh air of the great outdoors convince you they are who you are looking for!!! They are trying to get you to attend more timeshare presentations, under the guise of being helpful to you - and they are relentless with their gimmicks! You will get discounts on activities as you are leaving the VDP timeshare presentation, at the resort through the concierge, and from the vendors themselves! Negotiate everywhere for the best prices on activities and souvenirs/gifts!

One of the many things I hope my kids learn: Your experience is often based on your expectations and the attitude you present. If you are kind & appreciative & gracious with people, they will leave you with a much more positive impression. If you are impatient, arrogant, and rude - that's what they'll reflect. Have an open mind and realize you are on vacation!!! Be grateful and HAVE FUN!!!

Room Tip: The rooms are fine - you're in Cabo! But, for the best room experience - BE OUTSIDE!!! Enjoy t...

My wife and I came to the VDP in August 2013. We got a fantastic deal ( $450 per person, this included round trip flight, and 4 days 5 nights All-Inclusive). I was a little worried because I have never done All-Inclusive before and was worried we would get a big bill at the end of the trip. The trip was fantastic. The hotel was a little outdated, but our room was nice and clean, and the beds where very comfortable. The food was great, we did the breakfast buffet every morning, and the buffet and show at night. We also tried the pizza for lunch, and the sports bar. The drinks where great as well. We where there during the slow season so the service was fast, but I can see it getting slow if the resort is packed. My only complaint was the big pool was closed the entire time we where there. The staff was great, and they didn't push us into going to the time share presentation after we checked in and declined. There was a hurricane one of the nights but the resort handled it very well. The All-Inclusive wasn't confusing as many have commented, all you need to do is READ the packet they give you when you check in ( pretty simple). At checkout there where no surprises on my bill. I would recommend the All-Inclusive because the prices where not cheap and it will cost you more in the long run. For what we paid we where very happy and impressed. Thank you Villa Del Palmar for a great time.

We exchanged our timeshare for this lovely resort and were delighted with everything about it. The location is right on the beach, with lovely views of Land's End, and two good restaurants. There are several pools on the property (water aerobics is offered every day) and we never had trouble getting a tennis court or use of the machines in the fitness center. The staff bent over backwards to show us a good time. As first time visitors to Cabo, we relied extensively on the concierges to help us make reservations for dinner, a sunset cruise, and snorkeling. They were incredibly accommodating, especially Evelyn!

Room Tip: Higher floors on the plaza side have good light.

We just purchased a time share at Villa de Arco. We were staying at the Villa Del Palmar. Our salesperson, Daniel Olivares, was very nice, personable and knew what he was talking about. We bought the time share because of him. We haven't used the time share yet, so we can't comment on our experience, but hopefully it will be a good one and the area at both places is very clean and beautifully kept. I don't undestand how the Villa De Arco can be booked a year in advance since they won't make reservations until the week prior to your stay? Hope this doesn't happen to us.

We were just in Cabo during the first part of January. This was our third time in Cabo and our experience at VDP has always been wonderful. My in laws are time share holders at VDP and through them we get amazing deals on rooms and service. We love the clean, friendly atmosphere. The restaurants at Palmar, Estancia and El Arco are all great. We've never done the all inclusive plan as it seems like a waste when you can go to the nearby Walmart to get food and alcohol. We like to buy stuff for breakfast, lunch and drinks. We save our money to hit the town and enjoy all the fabulous restaurants Cabo has to offer. The poolside margs are my fave (wait for 2x1 at happy hour) but beware, they are strong! Our last visit before this we got married at VDP. We stayed there for a week with 30 of our closest friends and family. After the wedding we moved to a nearby all inclusive resort for our honeymoon and left after a couple days because everything about the resort was terrible. We returned back to VDP and had the time of our life the remainder of the trip. Definitely appreciate what VDP has to offer - we've seen some terrible resorts out there! If you get a chance, make sure you hit up the Desert Spa - so beautiful and relaxing!! You can also hang out at the pools at El Arco and Estancia! El Arco's pool is much more kid friendly and doesn't have the cheesy activities going on all day. Only complaints I have: something needs to be done about the birds in the kiddie pool (gross!) and the sewage system isn't the greatest (I'm guessing all of Cabo is like this?). Other than that, we are planning our next trip to Cabo for Thanksgiving and looking forward to another great time!!

I got suckered into buying a Time Share. They show you Villa Del Arco so when you go to book your reservation they are booked up for atleast a year in advance. They told me that Villa Del Palmar was available so I reluctantly booked it. When we arrived it was nicer than I thought. Service was excellent, beds were comfortable (that was important to me), view was excellent, food was excellent with a good variety and I am a picky eater. I honestly would stay again without any hesitation. I also did the spa which was at Villa Del Arco. That was exceptionally spectacular. If you want to go to the Marina you can talk a little walk or a taxi for $2.00 usd a person. I did not do the all inclusive since we do not drink but most of the nights we did dinner at the Marina. They also had some kind of entertainment each night as well.. All if have to say is you would not be disappointed if you stayed at the Villa Del Palmar

Clean property right on the beach, professional friend staff did everything they could to make your trip better, with lots of English speaking personal, felt safe in Cabo with my young family, great rooms with kitchen made cooking a meal or two a day easy and affordable, close taxi ride to Wal-Mart for supplies, resort was quite and away from night life but a quick taxi ride to downtown if that is what you wanted, had lots of fun and can not wait to go back
