“Won't stay at this resort again”
Reviewed January 16, 2010

I got this reservation through an RCI trade. I can't fault RCI because I wanted a location at which I could walk to town and this did fit the bill. But I stayed in Cabo one week earlier and decided I really enjoyed the Pacific side much more. Why? Because their beaches, even though unswimmable, were gorgeous and lovely to walk. You could walk the Pacific beaches without being subjected to vendors (by the dozens!) and the timeshare sharks. Unfortunately I found Mendano Beach (at this resort) quite chaotic and not relaxing at all. I found that we were able to walk to the marina and town from the Pacific resort just as easy (Playa Grande).

To top it off we had a medical emergency which resulted in my husband being hospitalized. Of course, this is not the fault of the resort. But I did give the telephone number which was clearly listed on the telephone in the unit as "When giving this number to callers from the US and Canada use xxxxxxxx" My doctors office set up a very important appointment and when they called us back at that number received a recording that the number could not be reached from the United States! We waited for that call until we had to go to the airport! It was very important. If Pueblo Bonito Blanco has a more direct number that people from the US and Canada should call they should replace the bogus number that is listed on their unit phones. It would have saved us a lot of time and trouble. No thanks to their staff for that very important blunder.

The facility, food and service are wonderful. Beware, however, the time share sales. They have a new resort they are trying to promote, and every single staff member will stop you when walking, interrupt your meals, even call you in your room! It got so bad that we started eating out in town more to avoid the staff.

The rest of the stay was wonderful, and we'd definitely head back to Los Cabos. One other word of warning. Watch out for Baja Buggies. They gave us a broken vehicle. We complained, and they agreed to give us a 50% credit on site, but said they would have to process it at the headquarters. Once we got back to our hotel, of course, no one was willing to process it. We spent three months disputing it and finally lost. It seems Master Card is not really willing to support you, and tends to decide for the vendor

We sent an email before our trip to confirm our reservation and received no response. We arrived at the hotel with our two little ones. Not sure if we got a hello from the front desk but they took our information. After about 45 minutes wait they informed us that they over booked the hotel and will send us to another hotel! We had to wait for another 15 minutes to speak to the manager. In fact the manager didn’t come to talk to us. I had to leave my wife and kids and go to his office to discuss the matter. He didn't offer much! We ended up staying at there sister property Rosa. The staff there was as cold. The hotel is ok but lack heart and character. Staff is pre programmed with certain answers. Every thing is at a cost. No complimentary coffee for example. Check out is at a ridiculous 10 am! Can you believe this? Check in is at 4pm. Time share people are swarming around. Not relaxing. Stay away.

Location
-Had a wonderful view of the bay, lands end, and all of the action.
-walkable to town, or 6 dollar cab ride.
Service
-service was friendly and efficient. could call for ice for the blender in the room, and it would be there in a couple minutes. couldnt work the blender, and they were there before the ice could begin to melt!
Beach
-beach was nice to swim at, drops off quickly to over you head. Beware with poor swimmers. Water was crystal clear. Sand is not the powder sand of cancun, but you learn to deal with it (lol)
Restaurants
-las palomas restaurant, ate there once. they spun a nice story about being authentic mexican food, and maybe it is, but not my cup of tea i guess. Maybe I am more of a fast food mexican fan.
-good bar service on the beach (loved Martin) just watch out for the "dirty monkey" drink, turns out they are $12.50 each, and not really all that special
Rooms
-had one bed unit, "partial kitchen" was small, crowded, with only a small bar size fridge, Microwave, 2 burner stove, toaster, blender, coffee maker, was not great to cook any meals, more than toast and eggs for breakfast.
-"bedroom was small, contained 2 double beds, a closet, a dresser and a TV. they will put the 2 beds together for you and make one giant bed if you ask.
had room 420, view of lands end, no hiding from the sunrise when having coffee on the patio
rooms are clean and comfortable. They show some age, but still are very nice

would go back and would recommend to friends

This was our 7th stay at the Blanco....every time it just gets better!!! The employees at this resort are so incredibly friendly, they have become like family to us. I have two teenage boys, ages 14 and 16. Every year we give them the choice of going anywhere they want and they always want to come back to Cabo. There are so many activities to do at the resort, they never even ask to do the tourist-y things like jet ski, parasailing, banana boat (I think we did that all on our first trip to Cabo anyway). Juan Jose (JJ) is one of the activities directors....he is so much fun! He seeks out the kids to do the activities with him and makes it so much fun....Beach volleyball, pool volleyball, ping pong, bocce ball. My kids are athletic and not the gamer type, so maybe not all kids would be as physically active. We bring our skim boards for them every year too...that keeps them busy.
Dimitri and Martin are our favorite waiters...give them lots of good tips..THEY DESERVE IT!
So many good restaurants to choose from. A couple of our favorites are Mariscos Mazatlan, and Pepe's.
I highly recommend staying at this resort, trust me, we have travelled a lot and this is one of our favorites!

This was my first time in Cabo and I'm not sure why cause I loved it! I went for a relaxing trip with my boyfriend. We stayed at the Blanco and found it to be a great place to stay because of it's central location.
Our room was spacious and clean. All rooms have a beach view and nice balconies to sit and enjoy your surroundings. The rooms also have a kitchenette which is great if you want to save some money on food. We ate at Cilantro's twice and enjoyed it once but not the 2nd time so we were mixed on it. The service was not great either time. We found dinners out to be pricey so it would have been nice to have a meal in one or two nights.
There are 4 Pueblo Bonito hotels in Cabo and the hotels offer a free shuttle service between each hotel. This was a great way to explore what the Pacific side had to offer.
I loved the other hotels as the Blanco is the oldest of the four, but the ones on the Pacific side are a bit secluded and they do not have swimming beaches.
At Blanco, you are a few steps away from a great swimming beach and a few doors down from some really fun bars like The Office.
You can easily walk to town on the street side or to the marina on the beach side and enjoy all that Cabo has to offer.
The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. Even though I brushed up on my Spanish, it was not really needed as everyone spoke English.
Overall, the Blanco was a great place to stay.

Tip: Book transportation to the hotel beforehand and ignore EVERYONE who tries to stop you on your way out of the airport. Just keep walking until you get outside and find your shuttle.
If you are not willing to sit through a timeshare presentation, you must be very firm as multiple people will try their best to persuade you to attend.
However, if you don't mind sitting through a 2 hour presentation (breakfast included) they will give you all of the cash for food and activity discounts that they say they will. As long as you do it through the hotel, you won't have to give them any money.

My wife and I stayed here Oct 8th through the 12th. Three other couples came with us. This place was great. The staff did above and beyond anything we asked.
We had dinner outside and the food was awsome. We even had food left over and ate it later that night.
The location is great.
This was our fourth time in Cabo, we stayed at the Rose' last time and I liked the Blanco better, just my opinion.
Time share people were very nice and respectful when you said no thank you. Our friends went on the time share deal at the Sunset, they said it was very nice and they are thinking of purchasing a time share there. They got a free breafast and some extra cash for going.
It does not have a swim up bar, but hey will bring drinks to you at the pool even if you are in the water.
