My friend and I stayed at Blanco from March 5- 9 and we had a really great time there. The staff was very, very helpful (from security to doormen to bellboys, concierge and restaurant staff). The hotel was clean and very well maintained. Location can not be beat. Right on Playa Medano (one of the 2 swimmable beaches in Cabo) and about a 15 - 20 minute walk to downtown and 30 minute walk to the Marina.
The unit we stayed in had a kitchenette, which was awesome!
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Cabo.
The only thing I would caution people on is the timeshare presentation. This is very abundant in Cabo and they sometimes won't let you go until you say yes. This happened in the hotel lobby and they promise you the moon. Be aware that you have to meet requirements: be single (female) and be over 28, if not, you go to the presentation just to be turned away empty handed and the sales people are not very nice (ironically , most of them are Americans...NOT the mexicans from Cabo). Some people are "hijacked" for hours (and you lose part of your day) & when you finally say no, they are not the nicest people. They drop you like a hot potato.

The Spa at the Rose was great, though I would not recommend their "HOT STONE MASSAGE" which was very expensive and not really well done (at one point my lady dropped a HOT stone on my chest, and it was very hot). Maybe the other services are better, but definitely NOT the hot stone. Save your money for something else.

Both restaurants on site were great....and prices not bad either. Wait staff fantastic.
Poolside service was great too!

We spent 7 dyas at the P.B. hotel in Feb 09. We have 3 teenagers and the overall concensus was that it was a great holiday.

The location is the best in Cabo. It is right in the middle of Medano beach whch is just up the bay from downtown Cabo. Swiming, beach volleyball, cafes / bars on th beach, lots to do, yet very realaxing if you want to sip magaritas and watch the world go by.

Our room was very clean and well taken careoff and the daily service was exactly what we needed. The only complaint I had is much like others on this site. The flamingos are cool to watch but they make a lot of noise early in the morning. Our original room was on the main floor on the shady side. I asked the front desk to move to a room with a view away from the noisy birds. It took 2 days and several trys but they did move us and the problem was solved.

We also made our way downtown every night looking for shopping and restaurants. I t was a 10 to min walk vs. a $10 taxi ride (usually took the taxi home). The marina area has lots of restaraunts and shops although the places furhter into downtown are less expensive. Favorites for us were Pancho's, Marisa Mazatland, and Amarone.

The biggest tip I have is get your money in Pesos as at most places the result is it costs less. A taxi to downtown from the hotel is $10 Us or $1000 peso which is almost twice as much if you use dollars.

There are two hotels Pueblo Bonito hotels right next to each other. The Rose is situated behind the Blanco and is not as nice and has no view. So we checked into the Blanco but then they said we dont have a room for you here so they put us in the hotel next door - The Rose! Apparently they oversold all the rooms in the Blanco. The manager whose initials were JM was rude and threatening. He basically said there is nothing we can do for you so you can spend your vacation complaining or go and try to enjoy yourself! Only after calling to Expedia to have them negotiate for us did they get us back into the the correct hotel the 2nd night. We booked our transportation to and from the airport online via Expedia. When we left the hotel, the hotel taxis blocked us in and said we could not use the transportation service (Gray Line) because they are not contracted with the hotel. So we had to end up paying for a private taxi and barely got to the airport on time. The same manager was out there blocking the entrance so that the van could not leave the premises. Felt like the place was run by the Mexican Mafia. Would never go to this place again!

This is the second time my family has stayed here. The place is so incredible and the view of the ocean is awesome! Everymorning you wake up in awe b/c you'll see 2 massive cruise ships docked in the bay. It seems like they come and go daily. Pool is nice, loved the convenience store on site, food was good but a bit pricy. The beach restaurants are outrageously expensive though. Live entertainment on the beach daily. About a 15 minute walk to the shopping mall area. Found out there was a casino there too and bet a lot on the College Bowl games. Trust me, you'll have a blast!

Just returned from a week's stay at Pueblo Bonito Blanco (PBB from here on out). We had a fantastic time. This is a great little resort that is very close to just about everything you might want to do (including walking distance down beach to Marina/Downtown area). There are several beach bars much closer to resort than going to downtown. They are fun and much less expensive than Cabo Wabo, etc in town. We took several trips (evening cruises, whale watching, water taxi, etc) and had great experience on each. Don't be afraid to barter. We were coming back from the Marina area one afternoon and told water taxi that we only had $5 (usd) and they still gave us a ride back to the beach right in front of our hotel (most were asking for $10 or more). We are actually owners of a vacation program (Hilton Grand Vac Club) and booked trip through RCI for this week. We went on two other tours of properties and each lasted approx 2 hrs (2.5 hrs at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach). However, we received a total (combined) of $400 cash (usd) a couple of excursions and $100 to use at the resort spa. We listened through presentation as we actually do plan on making January trip to Mexico on regular basis (much better than our trip there in June of 2008). No pressure and once we said no for final time, they thanked us for our time, hoped we considered them in the future and gave us our incentives. As mentioned, it was more crowded and much hotter during June '08 trip (around 100 degrees each day). This week in Jan '09 I believe temps stayed in mid-80's most of week. The resort itself had everything we wanted (admit no hot tub outside but not really missed). The two restaurants on property were both great. However, we also spent about $150 at Walmart at start of week and ate many breakfasts & lunches in room (or made sandwiches and brought down to beach to eat). This $150 also included some bottled liquor (made drinks and took to beach or pool) and beer. It was no issue at all as long as you took no glass down around pool. I am sure that this property will be at or near the top of our list on return trips. The rooms appeared to all have 2 queen beds. However, we simply asked if could be put together. Staff member was up in room within 5 minutes to complete. Bed was then a very, very large KING+ sized bed (felt no separation between the two beds). Very impressed with the staff as they were all very friendly and attentive to our requests. This is especially true if you make close acquaintences with specific waiters in restaurants/bars. They are happy to assist, make suggestions and help any way possible to make your stay very fun and relaxing. We loved being right down on the beach and have nothing bad to say about our stay at Pueblo Bonito Blanco!!

We just returned from the Pueblo Bonito Blanco. The resort is impeccable based on its age. The check-in is quick and easy. The only minor issue is that you receive a free drink coupon upon arrival that has to be validated by the timeshare representatives who want you to sign up to tour the Pueblo Bonito Sunset (very nice as well) . Your reward is $200.00 towards your food and beverage bill at PBB. As with all timeshare presentations, they tell you 90 minutes and it takes 3-4 hours. So if you don't mind spending a few hours of your time to receive $200.00 in rewards, go for it, otherwise firmly and kindly decline. The rooms are tastefully decorated although some things are a little dated, and the beds are very comfortable. Our unit assignment 212 is a 1BR 2 Bath Master Suite. It is located on the second floor in a corner with a very large patio area. The view from the balcony is partially blocked by palm trees but still very nice. There are two double beds in the BR and a sleeper sofa in the LR. There is no jacuzzi at PBB nor at the PB Rose next door. They do offer free shuttle service to PB Sunset every hour if you want to use their pool and jacuzzi facilities. PBB is quiet and relaxing with no fear of the timeshare hawks and street vendors. It was a welcome, relaxing week in Cabo. I will certainly visit here again.

Are you a normal person? Meaning - you're not looking for trendy feng-shui rooms and celeb-spotting and you're not a spring-break party animal. Maybe you want to do a snorkel or fishing trip one day, or check out a tequila bar in town, but the main focus of your vacation is to relax by water with a great view and have drinks brought to you.

This is the place. A classy, classic, intimate (only 150 rooms) hotel that had a diverse group of guests - families, couples, retirees, solo travellers, 30-something friends, foreigners - who were all just there to chill. The vibe is low-key but with excellent service (much love to Salvador the beach waiter).

My room was spotless, the decor is tropical mexican without being offensive (their sister property, the Rose, is, um, pink and boasts classical statues) loved the kitchen, which has cute plates and even a blender. They even fold the toilet paper into the shape of a rose. My only complaint was that the couch smelled like an old man had been sleeping on it. I told them and I think they just sprayed it with febreeze. I mentioned it again on the comment card so I hope it's rectified.

Wifi is iffy but free by the pool or, if you're lucky, on the corner of your balcony overlooking the pool.

Beneath my balcony (every room has one) were the four flamingoes and a view of the palm-shaded pool and beyond, the sea (the view occasionally obstructed by mega-cruise ships). My bougainvillea was attended to each morning by iridescent hummingbirds.

The restaurant Cilantros is pretty good - I had lamb and sea bass - and the prices reasonable considering the view.

Other downside is the fitness center. The machines are shoddy. Update it.

Daily activities are pretty low-key - mexican bingo and volleyball, pottery painting.

They have a couple of theme nights - grill night was so-so, the mexican fiesta looked like fun - but if you want to try other hotels or restaurants, you can just walk a little down the beach.

In fact, if you want anything - a noisy bar, fishing trips, jet skis, para-whatever, party favors - you can just walk down the beach. It's all there for you to negotiate - or you can just have the hotel plan things for you. Yes the vendors walk by constantly hawking their wares but that's part of the ambience and they're behind a rope. I spent most of the time in a lounge chair the second row back so I was spared most of it. I did get an overpriced mango from the old man who yells "Mang-ooooos" up and down the beach.

As usual, ask prices first and know that no one will ever have change.

The water is clear and warm and you can see fish at your feet. They even have a roped-off area to keep the jet skis and such out.

You can walk to town but, as the roads are unfinished, it's easier to take a taxi.

If you're there in the winter - do take some sort of boat out to see the whales. Even the crazy Jungle Cruise - with its loud music and beer funneling - provided a view of hot whale action that rivalled anything you'd see at Sea World.

Finally - do the hotel's time share presentation - 200 bucks off your food bill at the very least. If you're not interested in buying, make sure to set your watch to go off 90 minutes after you start and don't lead them on by asking too many questions. "I don't want to waste your time" is a gentle way of putting things...

And yes, there are timeshare presentations being sold to you from the moment you step off the plane. You can walk away with some good swag (Free dinner at Ruth Chris) and check out the other properties, but they can also eat up your time...

If you're staying for more than a couple days, there's a walmart nearby.....

I'll definitely be back!
