“Our favorite resort in Cabo.”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

We have been traveling to Cabo San Lucas for 15 years, We love the P B Blanco. It is our favorite place to stay. We love the staff, the rooms the food and the location. The pool service is the best, friendly and fun place to be.

Hotel is perfect location in the heart of Medano beach next door to Melia (ME) Hotel which is the place to be for the party people. But the Pueblo Bonito Blanco is more chill by comparison with plenty of families, couples and small groups. Excellent pool service - Adolfo, Wilver, Antonio and Margarito were particularly great! The pool is very nice and the rooms are clean and all have ocean views. My only complaints are that the WiFi was spotty and the room was freezing. Even though the airconditioning controller was all the way to the warmest setting, it was still blasting frigid air which made it very uncomfortable to sleep. It may have just been our room, not sure. This is a good location for exploring Medano Beach. Be sure to go to The Sand Bar just a few doors down and get a massage on the beach - fantastic!

Room Tip: All rooms have ocean views which is nice

This is a perfect hotel if you want to be close to activities and bars and nightclubs by the marina in Cabo. Walking distance to the marina area or a cheap cab ride. Hotel has a small kitchen area with a fridge so you can pick up some cheap groceries at the Walmart close by. This resort shares with the Rose right next door - go use their pool if you want a little more action during the day. Also the store at the Rose is way better stocked then the one at Blanco. overall if you can you get a cheap trip here - totally worth it. We didn't do the all inclusive when we booked on line (about $300) then when you get to the hotel they try and sell it to you for $92 a day? unless you plan on eating and drinking alot at the hotel we don't normally do all inclusive - too many great little restaurants around to try. Did get sucked into drinking too many margaritas by the pool but you can just charge it to your room if you want. They will not take any cash for purchases at the bar. Do the timeshare tour at Sunset early in your week - it only took about 2 hours and we got a booze cruise, parasailing and a $100 room credit. or you can get ziplining. There are also a few beach clubs along the beach where you can stop for drinks as well. I am not a "high maintenance" traveller and as long as the rooms are clean and close to the beach I am pretty happy. Beaches in Cabo are not that great for swimming though so don't expect to be hanging out alot on them. We had a room on the main floor which I was disappointed with at first and then realized it comes in pretty handy when you are coming and going. No elevators to wait for. Unless you are in a higher end suites closer to the beach you don't really get much of a ocean view anyways.

My family (comprised of 2 Adults and 2 kids) recently returned from a week's vacation at Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Hotel. The hotel is reasonably well equipped. Pros: Location is prime, situated on the beach, with excellent chair and beach loungers for free. The sea is a tad rough to swim in but there is a lifeguard on duty with ample Flag warning signs referring to the Tidal conditions. The Pool area was fantastic and my daughters loved it. Well kept surrounding areas and very quiet in the 3rd week of August, highly recommend to visit at this time. Antonio - Concierge is a life saver, absolutely phenomenal, he constantly attended to our every need throughout the entire vacation! I went Scuba Diving (booked through Antonio - Concierge) with Manta. They were fantastic. I was literally having personal instruction and I would highly recommend the 1 or two tank dive for beginners. Very professional outfit!

Ok now for the cons: 1) Food - we didn't opt for the "All Inclusive", we ended up eating at all restaurants on the property and neighboring property Rose. Food was very bland and overpriced! You are also limited for food options around the surrounding property within walking distance. You really need to take a Cab to find some decent restaurants. While we are on the Topic of restaurants avoid 'Romeo y Julieta' Downtown at all costs. Service was dreadful, 5 or 6 waiters standing around not knowing what to do next and then really pushy on trying to sell a bottle of wine to you! Coupled with the fact that the food was average, maybe I'm too picky being a New Yorker but it was VERY disappointing! One Tip - stock up at the start of the vacation at the Walmart, since the Hotel rooms provide refrigerators, microwaves, stoves and kitchen utencils. 2) Internet - WiFi - or should i say lack of it. We booked through Expeida and were certainly misled that the Hotel offers 'Free' WiFi. This is not the case, you have to purchase internet in the rooms or around the property at $16 a day or $10 per hour! Completely ridiculous in this day and age that a Hotel does not provide Free WifI Access. One tip is to visit the Deli area in the Rose hotel and you will actually have access to 'Free WiFi :) 3) EL Arco - Boat trip - DO NOT Book this through the Hotel. We went on this excursion and it was dangerous to say the least! They use a small launcher to take you across the 'choppy' sea and wait 'til you see how they allow you to board the vessel. We saw several elderly women made to jump onto the Front of the boat and cling on for dear life! I would recommend taking a professional Boat service from the Marina downtown, where they use larger boats and you can board in a proper fashion! 4) Constant pushy 'Timeshare' representatives trying to get you to attend the breakfast and save $ off your vacaton. 5) Beach vendors hassling you all day long! In summary, the Hotel is great for families and young couples but there are certainly better places to stay in Cabo......

I stayed in this hotel in 2011 and was pleased with it overall. I decided to come back since they had an all-inclusive Expedia Extra! This was the major reason why I booked. Once I arrived the reception desk did not except the all-inclusive voulchers I presented. They refused to communicate with Expedia and asked me to call them....already in panic mode since we had 3 rooms booked and so tired from trip, I called and was put on hold for over an hour (68 minutes). The issue was not resolved and I was charged for dialing the 1800 Expedia number! Please verify with the hotel that your voulchers are validated before you trip begins!!! Also, Expedia prints 2 customer service numbers, make sure you find out which one is the international so you do not get charged. I asked the Expedia agent and they asssured me that the number I was using was correct, it was not. Bottom line, Expedia and the hotels need to communicate and make ammends for the inconveniance they cause the paying customer, not the customer on vacation time and money.

Room Tip: Make sure you verify your reservation details before trip! You will have a nightmare trying to get...

First, thank you Henoc for going above and behind in your duties and hitting a home-run every time.

The hotel was great if you like walking to town and working of the extra calories you will undoubtedly be consuming on your vacation, and if your lazy the cab is about 6 bucks (never took a cab so don't quote me on this price). The hotel has one of the only private swimming beaches in the Cabo area, the pool is 'ehh, and the dinning that we had was adequate - mostly from room service. The rooms where a little smaller than what we where used to for a 1 bedroom being used to RCI standards, and the two queen beds had to be put together which created a giant "SUPER" King bed which was odd but awesome (once again thank you Henoc, and make sure you call ahead to have them do that). The happy hour is from 3 to 4 which is 2-for-1 on a variety of drinks.

All that said, the reason to stay here is the location. You can walk down the beach to placed like The Office, Mango Deck, and some others. Also the public beach down the road tends to have calmer waves on the days when the Bonito's beach seems dangers to swim in. You can walk to downtown (if I did it in August, you can do it too) and that will save you 100 dollars in cab fairs alone. The hotel also had a nice turtle pond and some flamingos on the premises which was a cool touch. You also have to go next door to the Rose for WiFi. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Talk to Henoc and ask him for a room on the 4th or 5th floor with a view.

We stayed at Pueblo Bonito for six nights in August 2012. We booked through Expedia, and found a 'junior suite' for $160 a night. We checked into a large room with two beds, a small kitchenette, a seating area and a balcony with a beautiful view of Medano Beach and Lands End.

The resort is not large (about 150 rooms), but has a pleasant pool, fitness centre and two restaurants. It is a short walk along the beach to a number of bars and restaurants, or about a 15 minute walk into the centre of Cabo. On the well-maintained hotel grounds are two budgie enclosures, some flamingos and two koi ponds with turtles - fun for those with kids. A variety of activities are organized and available throughout the day.

We had some poor weather during our stay, and we were thankful for a comfortable room to wait out the rain. The staff we encountered were uniformly friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is a common one - a lack of free or consistent wi-fi access. If Pueblo Bonito truly wants to be a luxury resort, they should just sort this out.

Overall - a great stay.
