“Baja Cantina Beach very al fresco Dinning”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

If we had been any closer to the water we would have needed our bathing suits. Just before sunset is ideal. You can sit at your table with your feet in the sand and enjoy the sun going down behind the Pacific side hills. The colors are usually very striking. Best enjoyed wwith a cold cervera or margarita. The menu is Cabo reasonable and we find the food to be very good. The poblano chiles (2) stuffed with seafood is outstanding. The coconut shimp is very good. A minor disadvange of being right on the waters edge is there is usually a slow breeze and the food cools off quickly. So do your talking before or after eating. Enjoy a beachy evening.

“Don't wear good shoes to dinner!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

We were taken to our table on the beach, overlooking the ocean, but our shoes promptly filled with sand. This would have been nice during the day, in casual wear but when dressed up for dinner, not so much. The sand was also very cold, at that time of night (and year). They offer Mexican ponchos to wear, if you get cool, however, many people wear them and they didn’t look particularly clean. There was hardly anybody there yet we received poor service. After being seated, it took a while to be served water and drinks and to get the bill.

We chose this restaurant because we wanted the traditional Caesar salad prepared at the table. We had already been to another restaurant, nearby, but they had run out of lettuce. We ordered and were brought a plate with 3-4 romaine leaves on it and the dressing put in the middle of each leaf. We asked about table side preparation and were told “we don’t have that tonight, the bowls are being cleaned”. We had told our server and the host that was why we chose to eat here but neither felt the need to tell us it wasn’t available. We were disappointed with our appetizers so chose not to order anything else. The prices were more on par with other beachfront restaurants but more expensive than those in the Marina area.

“Marina location lacking”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

we have enjoyed the beach location many times - food surprisingly excellent, decor is stylish, service is average to good. So we thought we'd try the Marina location.
Live and Learn.
Obviously a forgotten step-child in the organization, the waiters are the typical know-nothing, blank stare, hard to find variety. Restaurant was empty and we still had to flag him in for beer replenishment... eesh. They didn't have the pizzas, apparently the oven was broken and the only other group-friendly food was the Mexican platter and nachos. both were sub-par typical messes - nothing fresh or interesting.
We tend to meet with pals to chat and laugh so we want shareable foods - this was not a good choice. and the odors that waft by from the marina are almost as bad as at Soloman's.
on the up side, it's not noisy from the adjoining restaurants
The TV's are flashing at all angles with Mexican football - with volume down which was better than most places.

“A great place to enjoy at Cabo.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

The Baja Cantina Beach Bar made a big difference in meeting other travelers and the staff. We met so many fun people from other states during our 14 day visit. Bar employees like Louis B. made the difference for so many. Louis brought out laughter in the guests and his coworkers. The rest of the fun was up to us to provide. We had a ball!!!
