“Fantastic short break”
Reviewed October 15, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Just spent the most enjoyable few days at Ardfyne on Loch Fyne and was very impressed by the property. So spacious, modern and clean. Had everything we required and more. The views are spectacular over Loch Fyne especially from the upstairs lounge. The outside space was also great for playing games with the children who also loved the games room. I would ceratainly recommend this property.

“Couldn't have chosen better”
Reviewed October 2, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Just back today after spending a wonderful 3 days at "Ardfyne". This was a surprise birthday treat for my husband and we couldn't have wished for better. The weather, of corse, was a complete bonus- beautiful which made the views from the lovely decking all the more stunning. Our surprise guests arrived the following day and were overwhelmed by the facilities as everyone had their own bathroom . The kitchen has everything you could wish for including the double oven which was welcomed as we were hosting a meal for 7. The gardens are pretty and extremely well maintained- even the neighbours are welcoming!
There are so many pretty places to visit around the area. Our only disappointment ( which has nothing to do with the house) was our meal at the Creggans Inn which I had booked for my husbands birthday evening. The meal and service were extremely average and I wish we had gone somewhere else as we came across nicer places elsewhere. Overall a wonderful time in an extremely stunning property.

“AWESOME”
Reviewed July 10, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The house was as advertised and in a wonderful location, everything was as expected with plenty of room in the house for everyone.
The owners were very nice and easily contactable.
Our grandson was at his best throwing stones into the Loch, which was only a few minutes walk away, there we also saw--- jelly fish/star fish/plenty of fish/crabs and dog fish.
The local neighbours were very friendly and made us very welcome as did the post office where you could get a really nice breakfast.
Sad to go home,Grandson wanted to stay in the house forever he loved it so much.
We even saw deer at the edge of the garden on 2 occasions so a real bonus.

This was just perfect for our special weekend away. The house was lovely with 4 good size bedrooms which had lovely ensuite bathrooms. The view upstairs was breathtaking!! I would certainly stay again. The Creggans inn was lovely serving really good food and only a short stroll away. We also had a fantastic meal at the Cairndow Inn which was a 20 minute drive away.

“Beautiful house with stunning views over Loch Fyne”
Reviewed June 22, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

My family and I stayed at Ardfyne for three nights at the end of May to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday. There were 6 of us in our group, aged between 25 and 62, accompanied by our two year old labrador, Wallace. Ardfyne is an absolutely beautiful holiday home. It is incredibly spacious, tastefully decorated and has a large well-maintained garden. We travelled as three couples and each of us had our own comfortable en-suite bedroom with views of the loch and/or garden. There are hills to the rear of the house where Wallace loved to go for for walks. He also had a fantastic time running around on the shingle beach to the front of the house and paddling in the loch. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped; it was ideal for preparing evening meals with the seafood we bought from the nearby Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. The dining area was great for playing board games and chatting after dinner. The highlight of the house is undoubtedly the upstairs lounge with its large balcony/viewing deck. We really enjoyed sitting there in the evenings, having a quiet drink and taking in the spectacular views. While we were at Ardfyne the weather was pretty mixed, but it was lovely watching the views over the loch change (from blue skies and sunsets to moody grey clouds and rain showers!).

The house benefits from wifi internet access which was great for finding out about local points of interest and checking emails. The owners were a pleasure to deal with throughout, from the time of booking right through to their prompt refund of our security deposit. They greeted us on arrival - which was a nice touch - and they provided us with some useful information about the house and locality.

There is so much to do in the area, but the house was so nice we wanted to make the most of our time there and didn't feel the need to spend all of our days out exploring. One day we did a crossbow session at Argyll Adventures in Inverary, while another we took a trip to Portavadie Marina. On our last night, we had a wonderful evening meal at the Creggans Inn (in Strachur village) where we also went for drinks a couple of evenings. They have a very well stocked bar (and a pool table for those with a competitive streak)! The post office tea room was a five minute walk away and did a great breakfast.

We would love to go back to Ardfyne in the not too distant future. Next time we'd like to try some of the other activities that the area has to offer; horse riding, quad biking and a day trip to Tarbert will be on our list for our next trip.

In summary, we would highly recommend Ardfyne as a base from which to explore Argyll, or simply as somewhere to go to relax and get away from it all!

Really great to hear that you all enjoyed the birthday party and made good use of the very large kitchen.
Hope that Wallace, the dog. got his fair share of the food, especially after running round the garden, beach and hillside. The area is certainly a dog's paradise.

“Excellent location, super views, generous sized rooms, comprehensive equipment, helpful owners, perfect.”
Reviewed June 22, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The location of Ardfyne provides superb views across Loch Fyne, best viewed from the sitting room on the second floor, a large bright space with a balcony that invites one to take in the morning or evening air. That was the area where our family party of eight (age range 26 to 67) -spent most of our time. The long table in the dining room was ideal for playing games on as well as its primary purpose. Although there are nearby houses it's position above them and the screening shrubs and trees gives perfect privacy while providing excellent vistas. The rooms are large, especially the kitchen with it's two fridges, giving a spacious and relaxing feel to the whole property.
We all loved the property, one of the best out of many we have rented for family holidays over the years. Our stay was blessed with exceptionally good weather for the first week of our stay, suncream required every day. Visits to the many beaches and gardens in the area were great (Ardentinny our favorite where we saw an Osprey hunting for fish). One of the best features of the area is the excellent selection of eating places available, especially good for seafood.
The wifi internet access was very good, an important aid in getting ferry and other current information in addition to the basket of leaflets provided.
My only issue was not with the house itself but the Tripadvisor system that did not seem to email me when the house owner had posted a message for me on their web site. It seems I am expected to check their site at intervals to discover any messages. Not sure that I will be using Tripadvisor for holiday booking again.
Overall a memorable holiday house and location, greatly recommended.
