We were a tad disappointed at this. I guess our hopes were higher then what is actually there. its a fun quick visit but not much to do other then tour through a couple of buildings.

The Hall in Stanley Bridge PEI dates back to the era of single room class rooms. The Sterling Women's Institute acquired the building and have restored ,modernized, and taken care of it.

During the summer months (June thru the end of September) it is the home to musical concerts, aka Kitchen Parties or Ceilidhs six nights a week. Different groups on different nights. Our favourite is Saturday night when the RIchard Wood Trio is one stage.

The shows start at 7:30 pm and last until 9:30 or so. Seating capacity is 150 and Islanders have a tradition of showing up early. If you want to sit up front, or if you want to get in at all, you need to be there when the doors open at 7 pm. To be on the safe side, be a few minutes earlier than that.

Great music and fun. Easy walk from our accommodations and great value. Those three put on a great show and I would recommend to anyone.

From beginning to end this ceilidh was a high energy event accented by astounding talent for
singing, dancing and best of all, musicianship. Guitar, fiddle and keyboards were played
equally well. If you are looking for a ceilidh to start or continue your musical experiences on the island, look no further than the Ross Family and their ceilidh at the Stanley Bridge Hall. We're glad we got in on their last ceilidh in Stanley Bridge for this season.

We enjoyed the Ross Family performance so much that we went again the next evening and enjoyed that group just as much (don't recall the name but main entertainers surname was Gallant). Would highly recommend anyone staying in PEI to make the trip over to Stanley Bridge any night of the week for exceptional Maritime entertainment. However, most of the shows are ending for the season at various times in September but begin again in May.
