The good points:
The villa is well equipped for a self-catering vacation. There is a lot of outdoor space that allows for dining on a couple of different levels. There is a BBQ area with dining as well as a private balcony for al-fresco dining. Indoors, the kitchen is well equipped with superior cookware. Off the kitchen is a large indoor formal dining area. The two bedrooms are spacious, the bathroom also contains a washing machine, blow dryer, extra towels etc.. The living room area is tastefully decorated.
The pool was too cold to use during our stay even thought it was 27-30 degrees during our stay. The next issue certainly wasn't the fault of the owners or villa, but we felt we lived beside a kennel facility. Croatians must be oblivious to noise pollution as during our stay there was no attempt to minimize the dogs barking by the owners or neighbours.
Dugi Rat offers very few facilities (other than two less than average supermarkets). Our biggest point of frustration was that the entire SE portion of the sea shore was building site which was not mentioned in any search engine searches due to the fact that the Croatian Tourist Board has optimized itself for all relevant searches of the "Dalmatian Coast".
