Stonehurst Farm is simply a perfect day out for the family.
We have visited Stonehurst many times and as ridiculous as it may seem, is one of the main reasons that we moved to Mountsorrel. Our 3 year old has loved it since her first visit at a few months old and it transforms a normally shy little girl into an outgoing and adventurous child. Whatever the season, it is a fantastic place to visit, where interaction with the animals is encouraged. We have witnessed lambs being born, the progress of newly born animals, fed the lambs, petted the rabbits and guinea pigs and enjoyed the hay barn hugely and when we are all tired, have enjoyed some lovely lunches in the tea room.
The staff are very friendly and on more than one visit, the tractor driver has walked around the farm, making sure that everyone knew that he was about to take the tractor out for rides so no one missed out and when it is busy he will return to take any one else that couldn't fit on.
Stonehurst is the most enjoyable and best value family day out we have enjoyed so far.
We are really looking forward to the Victorian Christmas Fayre in a couple of weeks.

We took our 2 grandchildren here at the week-end and all four of us had a great time - plenty to do and it tired them out. They liked feeding the animals and petting the rabbits - Wellies were worn as it was very muddy - The cafe serves a good range of food and the farm shop has lots of goodies - Recommended.

I used to take my now 18 year old son here and he used to love it. Recently had my 6 year old niece to stay and took her. It hasnt changed much and still offers a fanastic experience to get close and feed the animals and loads of energy zapping acticitys! really good value and superb cake in the tea room

I recently took my god daughter to stonehurst for the day and we had a fabulous day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Ticket entrance is good value for money. Variety of different activities for young children to do. My goddaughter particularly enjoyed petting the rabbits and her tractor and horse rides. Food in the cafe was lovely and good price. Definitely recommend!

i have been to this farm 5 times over the last 2 years. ive been in sun, rain, and freezing cold, and had fun every time. we always take a picnic. on the riny day we were only here for 2 hours, as a lot of things are outdoors, so you cant really do a lot in bad weather. on the sunny day we stayed for over 4 hours. we had a nice walk around the fields, went and fed the animals, took a walkround the museum, had a tractor ride - which was the highlight of the day for the kids!
theres a good outdoor play area, and a pony ride for 50p....yes it only last a few yards, but they kids loved it :) and even when taking lots of children, 50p isnt much to pay for 1 minute of smiles. theres a tea room here but we have never used it, as when its sunny we had a picnic outside, and when it was rining it was full and very busy, hence why we only stayed 2 hours and decided to come home.
very cheap to get in, around £4.90 adults, £3 a child. well worth it on a suny day, as you could spend a few hours here. not a whole day thing though, theres just not enought there to keep you busy all day! but its somewhere different, and great for kids upto the age of around 12, any older and i think they would be bored! its only about 30 min drive for us, so we dont mind going. but if it was any further i really wouldnt bother. worth the money to get in, and we always have fun. the kids loved the swing ropes and the hay bails, this lept them busy for almost 40 minutes! and gave us time to sit and have a coffee and let them play.
theres a good shop aswell, where we always buy the cakes from, and ice lollies etc...also a gift shop! i would recommend to anyone, but do be prepared to get leaving after 2-3 hours! :)
