This place is run by a very friendly Lao women, and the food is excellent! She offers a great combination of traditional Lao food (jeow, sticky rice, etc. in addition to the Thai and Chinese-inspired stir-fries and curries) and Western dishes. I've been told she traveled to Germany to learn how to properly cook the Western dishes, and it shows. The only downside is the very long wait for food. I'm pretty sure there is never more than one or two people working in the kitchen, but long waits seem to be the norm in Nong Khiaw (and much of less-touristed Lao) so I don't it against them! For something a bit different, I recommend the Lao Farmer's Breakfast or the Stir-fried Elephant Ear Mushroom dish.
