We stayed 2 nights for a family funeral. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The room was large with a large shower room. It was very clean. We paid £75 per night, overpriced for the facilities. There was no towel rail in the bathroom, leaving us nowhere to hang our damp towels, the towels were quite small and we only had one each. There were no hooks anywhere in the room, just the wardrobe which only had trouser hangers, making it difficult to hang shirts and blouses. There was only one bedside lamp, so I needed the main light on in order to read in bed. The emergency light was a quite bright green and lit the room, it was like sleeping in a submarine. The breakfast was very good, good quality bacon and sausage and plenty of it. We had to fil in the awful breakfast form the night before, stating time we wanted breakfast, and how we wanted our eggs etc. I hate these, I'd rather decide in the morning what time to get up and what I fancy to eat. Nevertheless we dutifully filled it in, only to find it mostly ignored as I'd asked for no beans and dry bread not toasted, none of which happened, although we'd verbally asked for tinned toms the night before, bizarrely I got them and my husband didn't and there were only the two of us in. The breakfast room was very dark. I would have happily paid £40-50 for this place, £75 was definitely too much

While visiting family we stayed over at this local village pub. Our stay was comfortable and cosy. Lovely clean and basic room but with all we needed for our stay. Peaceful and quiet and had a wonderful nights rest. Breakfast was perfect...our compliments to the chef....Andy. Locally sourced food cooked excellently. Very happy to recommend!!! Will certainly stay again! Lovely to meet and chat to the proprietor Ken.
