Had an excellent holiday, cottage is perfect for visiting many of the attractions in North Wales, with amazing surrounding scenery, peaceful surroundings but also close to town.
Decoration slightly dated but off set by having two en-suite bathrooms which was of great benefit to us as a family.
Wifi intermittent but understandable due to location.
Definitely a place to return to in the future.
After a slight hiccup with the TripAdvisor booking site I booked this lovely cottage just 2 days before we travelled. I phoned the owners who cleared up all the on line booking confusion for me. Both Richard and Jenny (the owners)phoned me back to help and advise and they were so helpful.
On arrival in Llanfairfechan we followed the owners fantastically clear directions up a very steep, winding and narrow village streets and country lanes and climbed and climbed up past fields of sheep and horses, through a gate at up to the owners house where Richard was waiting outside to greet us. He directed us up even higher up the hill to the cottage which was in a row of 4. The views are spectacular and the photos really don't do it justice. The cottage was fully equipped and spotlessly clean. Not ultra modern by any means, but that only added to its charm. The weather turned a bit cool and windy due to Hurricane Bertha passing by, but the central heating was available and worked well and the use of a plug in radiator was all we needed. The laundry room next door to the cottage meant that we could do washing and all detergent was provided for a very small fee, although we had taken our own. There was a dishwasher in the small, but fully equipped kitchen, with dishwasher tablets provided too. The drive up and down the hills each day was challenging but my 14 year old car managed it if you kept to low gears and took your time. Walks up the mountain behind the cottage were steep and gave you a good work out but again the views were amazing with lots of wild ponies to see. Round and about there is lots to do and see. Anglesey is just a short drive away. The North Wales Expressway means that nowhere is too far to get to and despite the weather we had a fab time exploring all around the local area and into Snowdonia. The owners were charming and nothing was too much trouble. Parking spaces below the cottage were on somewhat of a slope and at one point I fell out of my car door as it was tilted at such a steep angle but it was a laugh. The upper spaces however were on the level and one day we came out to find a peacock sitting on the roof of our car!!! If you like beautiful sea and mountain views, a cosy quiet place to stay and lovely hosts, this is the place for you. I would love to go back again. Thank you Richard and Jenny. We had a lovely holiday.
