This is the place!!! Little grotto styling. Kitchen just a tad bigger than a standard walk in closet. Jo-An the chef is a Master. And Lupita will smother you with service and her smile. Everything they serve is a creation and act of care. Order a full bottle of wine. Relax. Enjoy the experience!!!

A family member and I went to this restaurant recently since it is a favorite of hers. We ordered a salad and a pizza from our server, who spoke some English. The salad was very good. I especially enjoyed the goat cheese that was served semi-warm and soft on four pieces of bread. It was delicious. The rest of the salad was very good, and the pizza, while not what I was expecting, was tasty and fresh. I am accustomed to pizza with a tomato sauce, and must admit that I do prefer that, but this sauce was creamy and spicy. It was quite good, just different.
The restaurant was too warm, in spite of having several strong fans at full blast in the place. I would have liked it cooled down a bit, but I didn't ask. Next time I visit in the summer, I will.

La Esquina is in the back left corner of Las Palmas Plaza, which makes it easy to miss. This is a shame, because it's a good place to eat. Service was prompt, and like many places in San Carlos, easily bilingual. I ordered a small pizza, because I saw that pizzas were made on site. This is literal - the pizza oven is outside, and the pie is rolled right there (see the first picture). I had a nice vegetarian pie, though note this doesn't include pizza sauce in the American style - it's Italian.
Given good service and fair price (under US$10 for pizza and pop), this is a fine place.
