I took a walking tour of three churches with Joseph and thoroughly enjoyed myself. He is a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide, and I found his insights into the interaction between Catholicism and the indigenous religions to be especially interesting. I will definitely book another tour with him the next time I am in San Miguel de Allende.

Joseph is a funny and very entertaining expat. He is a self taught passionate tour guide. Some details seemed a little off historically, but overall he presented a good lay view of Catholic syncretistic religion. His tour is a mash of interesting stories, local legends and historical facts. He is a self published author (not an academic one). Still worth our time and money.

We really Enjoyed his tours and at the end he gave us one of his books which we thought was very nice of him. We will definitely recommend him to ur Family and friends traveling to SMA. He made our trip so much more interesting!!! Thank you Joe

While on a walking tour of San Miguel de Allende, one of the persons in the group brought up Joseph and just raved about him. We looked him up and reached out about taking us on his "Countryside Tour" where we cruised on the silver road, went to Atotonilco where the Mexican Revolution got its start, visited a monastary and a monk named Jonas, cruised through Dolores Hidalgo famous for its Talavera pottery and finally the original site for SMA's church. It was a fantastic tour, we learned a ton and felt lucky to have met Joseph. He has a lot of other tours, unfortunately we learned of his work a bit late in our stay and couldn't sign him up for more tours. Don't make same mistake we made.

We did the History and Culture tour with Joseph on January 2, 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed the interesting tour. Joseph pointed out the symbolism used in the icons and architecture of the churches which facilitated our understanding of the history of indigenous people. He is a wealth of knowledge and communicated very clearly. We highly recommend this tour or any others Joseph offers.
