The four-hour horse ride I took at Rancho Xotolar was easily the highlight of my trip to San Miguel. The guides are expert riders and riding teachers. They paired everyone in the group with the ideal horse and made sure to challenge us without crossing the line into recklessness. Highly recommend their services.

Whether you have ridden all your life, or you have never been on a horse, this is a peak experience. The family are warm and welcoming and eager to share their culture. Wonderful horses, beautiful scenery and a safe comfortable fun adventure are for all to enjoy. I had the best Mexican food, everything fresh and authentic. What a wonderful day!

“Great hike, delicious lunch”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

I loved the hike they took me on around the ranch (they have some very pretty canyons nearby). I learned about the wildlife, life on the ranch, and a bit of history, plus I got to feast on a ridiculous number of fresh cactus fruit (a treat!).

After the hike was a traditional lunch with salad, black beans, homemade cheese, enchiladas, chips and homemade salsa... it was stupendous. The family who runs the ranch is very friendly and welcoming.
