A short (100 pesos) cab ride from the center of San Miguel de Allende takes you out into the country to this delightful -- and very creative --- table to farm restaurant. Fresh ingredients, and creative cooking in a beautiful setting are your reward. San Miguel has many wonderful restaurants, but this is the one you will remember.

Experience fresh air and ultra fresh ingredients right off the farm. We drove 10 minutes west of San Miguel to a lovely farm restaurant owned and run by a lovely young woman named Iliana.
De Temporada is a picnic on the farm. We ate outside in a large tent-like structure adjoining a large kitchen. The food is American fresh fusion with complex spices and freshly picked vegetables. I had and Asian pork lettuce wrap filled with fresh vegetables. I loved the vegetable
Fusuli pasta. My wife had the corn soup, a pork belly dish, and divine panda cotta with fresh
Berry sauce and mangoes. The flies were few and a minor distraction. We loved the fresh air
And the friendly atmosphere. The dishes were inexpensive and divine. The cab was only 50
Pesos from the town central Jardin.

If the food were served at an upscale San Francisco Bistro for twice as much money, you would be satisfied with the value. Truly inventive dishes prepared perfectly. To call the venue rustic really doesn't do justice. Its a lean-to made out of pallets in the middle of the farm fields--with a professional kitchen. But that is the charm. Truly great food in about as casual a setting as you can imagine. Bring your own wine only adds to the value!

I have been wanting to go after the great recommendation in the NY Times article 36 Hours in San Miguel de Allende. It is a small restaurant that was totally deluged with people with long waits. I waited and was so glad, as I had a wonderful meal with a friend who is a great chef. The town was crowded so having lunch in the campo overlooking the organic farm was really perfect in order to get away from the throngs of tourists. We went early and were the first ones there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

The structure is made of palattes with a covered plastic roof and open views of the fields. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I had the pork sandwich with an apricot and sundried tomato chutney, apples, a goat and blue cheese spread and balsamic dressing. I also had a small side salad with lovely dressing in lieu of fries. It was really excellent and also loved the homemade peach ice cream with fresh strawberries.

Everything is so fresh as the primary source of their ingredients is from their family owned organic farm, Ranch La Trinidad. It is short drive or cab ride from centro.

It is a special experience and I will definitely go back!!!

I truly find this restaurant's location, in the middle of an organic vegetable farm, idyllic. As you drive onto the property one first spies the chicken coop and then this tremendous vista composed of fields of organic veggies. The restaurant itself is very rustic, constructed from nailed together packing crates. The young owners appear to do all the work themselves and for that reason the menu is rather limited. On two different visits with friends, everyone left satisfied with their meal. They raved about the pork belly entre. I had a meatball sandwich that came with a crispy side salad that was lightly dressed with a vinegarette and it was quite delicious. I spied a homemade apple pie for dessert but didn't partake. The simple country ambiance is what makes this place worth a drive.
