Description: MuRo Named after the two surnames of one of the two guys who own it, Cafe MuRo open in Loreto Street stayed there from May 2010 to recently when it moved to its new venue at 1 San Gabriel St. in the beautiful Barrio del Obraje, just few setos from Fabrica La Aurora. It has been known for the quality of food and friendship of the staff- Cafe MuRo is a prestigious establishment well known for its cozy and homey atmosphere and popularity with locales and foreigners. Many regulars bring out-of-town visitors who want to get a "feel" of Mexican flavors in a not pretentious place. Cafe MuRo is much more a pleasant than the location might suggest. Not much to look at from the street, until you spy the delicacies within. The menu consists of simple, well-cooked, fresh and traditional Mexican food. Wonderful home-bread and soups, salad, good-sized portions, and fair prices make it a great place for everybody. Staff is friendly and helpful. When you come to MuRo, you are guaranteed a good meal and friendly service everybody time. Highlights include breakfast all day, a salad to die for and strong Mexican cofee that will knock you out. We assure you that once you are sitting in Cafe MuRo enjoying its food and service, you might want to stay longer that you originally tought! See you soon!

We visited Muro for a late breakfast (after 2pm) and had to wait about 20 min for a table for 6. Sure glad we waited. Probably the best breakfast we have a had this trip (going on 2 weeks so far in 3 states). My wife had the daily special which she received a very tasty Aztec Soup (she did not especially because it was a little sweet but I thought it was very good) followed by Green Enchiladas filled with chicken which was very good. One had a very tasty hamburger prepared to order just like he asked. Very good. Another had hot cakes which was very tasty. Also had pigs in a blanket (good American style breakfast sausage is not easy to find), Cathy's which was pan cakes, eggs, bacon, sausage. Very tasty. Mine I was debating between my two favorite breakfasts, Eggs Benedict and Chilaquiles. I asked to try the sauces and both the red and green and both were excellent. I went with mixed green and red and then liked the red so much asked to hange for only red and more spicy. Some of the best Chilaquiles I have had anywhere. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Our family of four had a great lunch here. The owner, Gerardo, was wonderful with many tips for things to do in SMA

Food was great, especially the "Burrito Muro"!

I spent a month in San Miguel de Allende, and Muro quickly became my favorite restaurant. I was always greeted warmly, the service is friendly and speedy, the menu is varied, and the prices are very reasonable. The food was always fresh and tasty. The owner makes it a point to greet diners and check that they are happy, and, if you're a repeat customer, he always remembers you. The decor of the restaurant is warm, inviting, and simple. I'm already looking forward to introducing more friends to it next year.

Don't walk too quickly down Loreto or you may pass this charming restaurant located in the Centro of San Miguel de Allende. Once you have entered on a plank wooden floor, a colorful interior and courteous, charming host, Gerardo, greet you. The ever-changing daily lunch menu is based on fresh, local ingredients and offers a wide selection for a fixed-price meal. No worries here, Both Gerardo and Carlos, owners, make sure your every need is met. Attentive service, delicious food, abundant portions, with green ferns overhead and an adjacent art gallery make this a delightful place to linger and visit over coffee and dessert. Come alone or bring the family. There is comfy pillow seating available...so eat, relax. and enjoy. Cafe Muro is Mexican charm at its best..
