My husband and I, along with two other couples, stayed three nights on our first trip to SMA. From the start, I fell in love with the charm of the old place. It's also conveniently located to the central square. Keep in mind that the rooms are clean but very basic. There is no phone, tv, blow dryer, clothes iron, or clock. Although they do provide bath towels, there are no wash clothes (so, bring your own).
We slept with the windows open because there is no air conditioning (no need for it). So , each morning, around 7:30 or 8, we could hear the students at a nearby school practicing their band instruments. We could also hear the nearby church bells ringing. We really weren't that bothered by the noise, as we are early risers. The other couples that we were with couldn't hear the noise from their rooms.
We ate breakfast at their restaurant. The food was good and inexpensive. The bar was closed the days we were there.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
