Cafe Firenze (San Antonio #2 (near the Parroquia de San Antonio), San Miguel de Allende (SMA), Gto., P.C. 37750, tel. 415-121-0763, web: cafefirenzesanmiguel.com). The first time we ate there, we were with 6 other people. The restaurant has beautiful views and a nice terrace. Inside it is nicely decorated but very noisy. The food was very good, the house wine not so good. The service was very good too. The second time we went, there were 4 of us. It was lovely sitting outside on the terrace. The noise level was high, however. We had a very good meal and excellent service. We shared the octopus and it was delicious. Then we shared the risotto with mushrooms. It was also very good. Each couple shared an order of grouper fish that was nicely cooked and served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. We all enjoyed the meal. We spent about M$600 a couple with a M$90 corkage fee and 2 extra glasses of wine.

The third time we went we were just the 2 of us. The staff that greeted us, Raul and Cid, were friendly and welcoming. We sat outside with the beautiful view of the Parroquia and the hills around San Miguel. We decided to have the two specials, the clam chowder with corn and the mahi mahi with risotto and and an eggplant sauté with olives and a little spiciness. The clam chowder was good but it could have used more clams. The mahi mahi was delicious, perfectly cooked and juicy. The risotto and eggplant sides were also very good. The mahi mahi was grilled and the fire gave it great flavor. Raul served and he was good. Antonio, the owner, came to chat which we love. He introduced us to the chef. That was fun.

Consistently good Italian food. I like this place because they meet my expectations every visit. In addition they have a varied wine list. They buy in excellent produce too. There is an outside terrace and indoor dining as well.

We have been eating at this wonderful restaurant for two years. The food and service are always excellent. We have recently had an especially fine dinner here. We took friends who have dined all over the world and Firenze ranks with the best. The restaurant has relocated to a lovely spot with great views, not far from its original location. Don't be wary of the new location. Go!

Gerardo Ramos, owner/chef, serves salmon and scallops that are beyond compare. It's like cutting into velvet, they're so succulent. Non-pretentious menu, superior service all while enjoying a panoramic view of the town that includes four churches and the Parroquia. A white elevator brings diners to the terrace restaurant.

This one has been on our list for some time based on the reviews in Tripadvisor and it was well worth the wait. We weren't so certain when we entered the building. The entry is empty except for the restaurant sign and a couple concrete benches. A little further in is a sign instructing you to take one of the very few elevators in San Miguel to the restaurant on the top floor. We recieved a very friendly greeting by Raul who showed us to our table. We had a great view of the Parroquia that I'm told by Raul, is fantastic at night. While they don't boast a broad menu, what they do, they do great and has something to satisfy any taste. Our lunch special had 3 courses and we thourougly enjoyed each one. Wine was great and served at the perfect temperature. Very good value for the price and an enjoyable afternoon. Can't wait to try some of thier other specialties. We will definately be going back.
