Description: Chef Ana Lilia Galindo serves up a globe-spanning menu in Chamonix's cozy, hearth-warmed dining room. The specialty here is the aptly named Swiss fillet— medallions of beef wrapped in ham and cheese. But frequent fliers will also be pleased by traditional Mexican dishes like beef-stuffed poblano chiles, spicy Sri Lankan curry, Vietnamese spring rolls, and an array of fresh pastas. In fine weather, the pretty outdoor terrace is a lovely place to linger.

I have never had a bad or mediocre meal in Chamonix in the 17 years I have lived here! Ana Lilia, the chef and owner, is a gem, as are her staff. The food is beautifully prepared and presented---always! She has a wonderful variety, so always something for everyone. I don't know how she manages such a big menu in a tiny kitchen, but she does it beautifully!

Fabulous restaurant conveniently located one block off the main jardin. Delicious french flair menu, served with beautiful presentation......great flavors and perfectly cooked. Very nice courtyard dining area, but you can also choose the main inside dining room. Complete menu with something for everybody.

We dined at this beautiful and serene spot on 2 occasions during a recent trip to San Miguel. Everything was spot on. Attentive and charming service, lovely out door dining area, fresh food, perfectly prepared. The menu had a little something for everyone. Asian and French inspired cuisine with fresh and perfectly prepared local ingredients. Artisan cheeses with good wine selection, bread basket full of fresh baked delights. Menu changes daily. Just when I thought the luncheon could not get any better, we were treated to some music by strolling musicians. My nephew Max now calls this his favorite dining spot in San Miguel. When dining here, one can truly relax and enjoy an unhurried beautiful dining experience. We are returning to San Miguel soon. We will be returning to Chamonix, cannot wait!

Chamonix (Sollano 17, San Miguel de Allenda (SMA), Gto. tel. 415-154-8363). The patio of this restaurant that bills itself as French is lovely and there was a little breeze. We thought the inside was well designed too. We ordered too much but everything was good. We started with the red snapper with stuffed mushroom (M$195). It was a very large and thick steak that was cooked perfectly. The mushroom was served with a little lettuce. It was a very nice dish and enough for a main course. However, we also ordered the Roasted Free Range Chicken with orange sauce and mashed sweet potato (M$155). The chicken looked more like the size of a cornish hen but it was good and so were the accompaniments. We took half of it home. There wasn’t anything for dessert that Dimitri wanted. It was a nice meal. We spent M$350 plus tip. At another dinner we had a very good meal with very good service.
