Great little casual cafe just down the street from the Rosewood Hotel. Very inviting with colors and lots of fun art/knick-knacks. We went on a Saturday afternoon for a coffee and ended up eating the best lemon tart ever! We decided to return the next morning for breakfast. Even though the cafe is small (which adds to the atmosphere) there was no problem getting a table. I had fresh fruit and yogurt and my husband eggs, also the coffee is strong and delicious. I highly recommend this cafe if you want food that is good and a casual fun atmosphere.

We have been here for a week now and this was our best meal yet. Asparagus appetizer was outstanding, eggplant roulade filled with goat cheese was excellent and chicken in peanut sauce was very good.

My wife and I were in search of Sunday brunch when we ambled into Cafe Rama. Just off one of Sam Miguel's main streets, hard by the chic new Rosewood Hotel in an upscale neighborhood, this restaurant clearly has ambitions to be one of the town's go-to places for the well heeled traveler. Alas, a newly upgraded interior and sun dappled dining room isn't enough to raise its grade above average. Restaurants are about food--tasty, hot and well prepared, as well as service that's friendly, fast and accurate when it comes time to tally the check. Our waiter was friendly enough and said, yes, he would ask the chef to prepare huevos rancheros even though they weren't on the menu. In the meantime we sipped excellent coffee and average cappuccino. But the wait went on -- and on. When the eggs arrived they were hot and palatable, the refried beans were acceptable and the sauce just about right. But it took three tries to get a few slices of bread delivered even though the restaurant was not more than half full. When the check arrived it listed four cups of coffee, not the two we had ordered. A first attempt to set things right failed; the number was reduced from four to three. A final effort had to be made to get the check straightened out even though the man handling the money spoke excellent English. This was all done in a civilized atmosphere but reflected a lack of trained and organized restaurant staff as did the endless wait for our food. Don't try this eatery unless you have more than average patience .

You absolutely must eat here! It was close to our hotel, so we went to Cafe Rama a lot. Everything is delicious: the bread, the coffee, the meals, the music, everything. We always seemed to miss the morning rush, so we often had the little place to ourselves. The owners has a sweet tempered bulldog that prowls the restaurant.

We had two evening meals here during our most recent trip to San Miguel de Allende. A good location, with a nice relaxed atmosphere. But best of all - they have chefs who know how to cook, and the food is really tasty. Well worth a visit, and much better than your average tourist restaurant.
