“Great Stay in a Beautiful Home!!!!”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

Casa Cinco Patios is a lovely home with a great view of San Miguel. Antonio, the owner , is a wonderful host and very easy to communicate with from the moment you make your reservation to the time you depart. He is also quite young and has a practice in Nutrition and Healthcare. He made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
The property itself is just a delight. Each interior space is decorated with incredible folk art and comfortable furniture. The patios are all quite private and are also decorated with handcrafted pottery and beautiful sculpture. Antonio has a fabulous cactus garden on one level and pots overflowing with blooming flowers are everywhere. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds that visit the numerous feeders on the patio outside the living and kitchen area. The kitchen is always open and guests can make themselves at home if they want to prepare food. The dishes and tableware are all handcrafted and lovely. Antonio has a San Francisco phone number that he graciously offered so we could call home to check on our family without cost. Licia prepares breakfast from 8 to 11 at the guests' request. Her sauce on the huevos rancheros is to die for ! She is also available to do laundry for a modest price and will prepare other meals on request. It was so convenient to be able to have clean clothes without having to go to town.
Draco is a precious Westie that loves belly rubs and will keep you company if you are missing your own doggies. We loved having him around. We truly enjoyed our short stay at Casa Cinco Patios and felt like we were staying in a friends' beautiful home. We are so glad we chose Antonio's bed and breakfast and can't think of anything negative to say about our stay. Antonio is the perfect host and his home is a little oasis of beauty and calm perched on the hillside overlooking the precious town of San Miguel de Allende. Hope we can go back again for a longer stay in the near future. Just a wonderful experience and sorry we couldn't stay longer! Thank you so much Antonio!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Los Parajos which was on the first level-this was very convenient and the room was huge...

Great spot to enjoy the beautiful views of SMA. Believe all the previous reviews. Antonio was a gracious and helpful host as were Licia and Draco. Don't be put off by the high hillside location, the walk to town was easy and enjoyable and for 5 pesos any of the numerous buses will take you right up the hill to the casa. Great value for the money. Doubt you can beat it ! Will definitely be back and soon. Rick D.

Room Tip: All of the rooms looked great. Would be hard to single one out.

Its hard to truly understand what you're getting into when you get to San Miguel. Tiny streets wind up beautiful hills in a way that can only be described as magical. Casa Cinco Patios was the perfect home base for days of wandering through markets and nights on the town. The staff is helpful, the home cooked breakfast excellent, and the house it self....well again thats hard to describe. The patios provide comfortable privacy and at the same time a view of the city. Each room has its own latin flavor with decor that is a tasteful mix of modern accouterments and classic Mexican flare. Its hard not to fall in love with this place, be prepared to want to extend your trip.

What a great place to experience the charms of San Miguel. Antonio and Lee were gracious hosts who provided excellent service, thoughtful advice, and the utmost care to ensure that my vacation exceeded my expectations. The place itself is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and it has an awesome view of the city. We sits for hours in the cactus garden reading a book. It would be a great place to have a party. They have a traditional Mexican kitchen and grill on the terrace with everything you need. I am going back in November for Day of the Death.

You can find more expensive places to stay but you cannot beat the value. The decoration of each room is unique and thoughtful. Each room lends to privacy and the multiple patios are close at hand. The sunsets from the Cactus Roof Garden is spectacular and dramatic. It is close to the center of town (10 minute walk) and the owners help you get situated and off to see the many attractions. We love the place and planning to go back soon.

I think I will remember the kitchen and breakfasts most about Casa Cinco Patios. The kitchen itself is a great mosaic of Talavera tile and a cozy place to have a full English breakfast including fruit, juice, eggs any style, plus beans, bread and even peanut butter! Licha is a great cook and willing to try anything you desire. The rooms are private and ample. I stayed in Los Pajaros and it should be advertised as a suite with its own private patio. The location is the best, very close from the main plaza. From the upper patio you can see all San Miguel, truly amazing view. This was a wonderful Mexican experience for me.

Staying at Casa Cinco Patios in San Miguel de Allende has once again exceeded my expectations. I arrived in the beginning of April when the jacarandas were in full bloom. The view from Casa Cinco Patios is breathtaking. The entire landscape was a vibrant purple. I had friends over from New Hampshire on the upper patio for sunset margaritas. ( I have enjoyed many sunsets on the patios.) I have learned the best ways to get around the city. There are many flat area as well as those that can be more challenging. I tend to always make it back to the Jardin and go back to Casa Cinco Patios the way I came. Casa Cinco Patios is amazingly convenient to the Jardin, which is a short beautiful 9 minute walk. And it takes only 9 minutes to get back. It is very convenient to restaurants and shopping. If you want to venture out of the city, you are on a direct route to go to neighboring cities, hiking and tours. I have had the pleasure of touring other B&Bs in different parts of the city. I find them quite charming, but very expensive. I am thankful to have found Casa Cinco Patios, where the accommodations are excellent and the prices are unbeatable in comparison.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. I learned that Los Flores, the room on the second level, is most conven...
