This place is located next to the temple de la concepcion and we were lucky to see two great art exhibits while we were there, plus an extra treat with sculptures in the courtyard. Looking like the cloister of a courtyard in Europe, it's very easy to see the exhibits as you walk around. Added bonus were a few great murals by Pedro Martinez. Exhibitions are temporary so it's the luck of the draw if you happen to go there when there is a good artist on display.

There are several murals to see in this beautiful building but make sure to visit the room on the back right with the murals by Davíd Alfaro Siqueiros. It is really stunning. I am so glad a local friend took me for the first time a year ago.

A large classic Spanish Colonial building with the traditional open courtyard. A couple of salons were in use exhibiting an artist, but my favorites were the examples of important Mexican muralists David Alfaro Siqueiro and Pedro Martinez. Wiki them before you arrive and you'll appreciate the several murals much more.

On our visit, there were a few Dia de los Muertos exhibits in the collonade and courtyard. If your timing is right you may get a glimpse of a ballet class in one of the large salons, or perhaps an art class.

The visit could be improved with some educational placards explaining more about the building and some of its important features. We appreciated the double-duty of the security guards in this regard.

The bookstore had a very professional staff with a good collection of art, history, archaeology books and magazines for sale.

Gorgeous courtyard with a really nice art gallery. Stop in just to relax and look around. Outstanding architecture, just off the main square. Not to be missed.
