The house is close to everything, you don't even need to get a taxi or uber. Everything is at walking distance. Great place.

“Perfect central location within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping and sightseeing.”
Reviewed May 24, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Excellent accommodation! Melissa (owner) and Lorena (housekeeper) always ensure we are comfortable and have everything we need in the beautifully furnished casita. Centrally located close to all activity, yet incredibly quiet, ensuring a peaceful and tranquil environment. The rooftop garden provides a beautiful vista of this charming city. We are five time return guests and have enjoyed every minute. Casa De Las Divas is a gem that we will continue to return to.

“Casa de las Divas is Wonderful!”

This is my second stay at Casa de Las Divas and I'm already thinking about when I can return. The owner, Melissa, keeps the place in wonderful shape with the help of the very capable Lorena and a very kind and efficient gardener. If you're the type of traveler who enjoys balancing your time between exploration and hanging out, this place is great! Last year I stayed in the upper casita and this year booked the lower. The photos Melissa shares are very accurate and I had everything I needed for comfort and esthetic pleasure. Furnished by Melissa, both casitas have lots of art and comfortable furniture. Both times I stayed we had lovely flower arrangements in our living room. The casitas are tucked behind one of San Miguel's many street side doors and their location behind the main house gives one a sense of calm and privacy, even during the boisterous Dia de las Muertos celebrations. It's a 5 minute walk to the Jardin and there are several restaurants, shops, and business close by. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook (but why would you in a city full of such reasonably priced restaurants serving delicious meals) and there is a Vonage phone that can be used if you really want/need to call home. Horchata the delightful cat will stop by for a visit but is not offended when put outside. The small courtyard is beautifully tended and the sound of the small fountain is too relaxing. Melissa is more than happy to answer questions or point you where you might want to visit. There's an artisan's market down the street toward Insurgentes that has very decent prices and it's very safe to walk at night. In fact, Felt safer there than in my own neighborhood in a northern California college town. You can always stay in a hotel, but why would you want to? I find the more money you spend at a hotel, the further you are from really getting to know the city and people, and SMA is a city full of polite, kind folks who are justly proud of their community. You can have it all at this place! Feels like home, but you know you're in the wonderful city of SMA!

“Great location and beautiful place!”
Reviewed October 25, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Really enjoyed my stay in San Miguel st las divas!

It's in the centre of town and is easily the most stylish place with lots of character and charm!

Melissa was very easy to communicate with and gave me lots of local insight to what is good to eat where the great coffee, and art was to be found.

“Cozy, charming and close to everything”
Reviewed October 24, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

A friend and I stayed at Casa de las Divas in SMA a few weeks ago! Was greeted by the sweet housekeeper and a beautiful flower arrangement on coffee table. The casita was perfect for us, we each had our own space and found that it was very well equipped, charmingly furnished, and very cozy and cool, in spite of the temperature outside. That was a very convenient little grocery store across the narrow street that had everything we need for our daily breakfasts which we cooked in. We took advantage of the great restaurants in SMA and ate out for rest of meals

I will definitely return to this sweet casita again!

I also recommend anyone considering Casa de Las Divas to use the transportation company they kindly recommended: Angelica's Tours

“My favorite place to stay in San Miguel!”
Reviewed August 26, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This is my absolute favorite place to stay when I visit San Miguel. This was my third visit to 'Las Divas'. The casitas are so charming with luxuriously comfortable beds.
Lorena does a lovely job of keeping everything spotless and Melissa is a wealth of information about the area.

The location is really central to everything. There are several restaurants within a 1 to 5 minute walk outside the door. My favorite (super clean/safe) taco and ice cream stand are just on the corner and an amazing tamale and atole stand are just up the street as well. I feel super safe as a single woman with a child staying in the area. I have walked home as late at 11pm and felt safe and confident since it is right in the heart of the town.
As long as there is availability, I will continue to stay at Casa de Las Divas on all of my future visits.
