“Great place to people watch and enjoy nature”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

We enjoyed people watching Juarez Park because it tended to have more citizens than tourists. They had many different types of beautiful and exotic plants which, even though we wouldn't be able to bring them back, still remain tempting purchases. There is also a playground for the kids and have yoga classes here in the morning.

“Cozy and charming”
Reviewed May 22, 2012

It seems that there is something going on every evening, not only for the tourists but the people lucky enough to live in this charming town. We were lucky to experience fireworks, "fire" hockey, Mayan ceremonies and a spectacular light show on the church. Venture there at least one evening on your visit.

“Nice park in town”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

This park is big and really nice- with a lot of trees and shade, which is good when it's very hot in San Miguel. There were lots of dogs when we went, and people were jogging and playing basketball every time- it seemed like a fun place to hang out!

“Parque Juarez: San Miguel's Lively Outdoor Jewel”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

Parque Juarez, just a ten-minute walk south of San Miguel's epicenter, is a verdant gem, with paved paths that meander over and around a small river. Early in the morning, it's a fresh haven for walkers, runners, dog-walkers and yoga and tai chi enthusiasts. Local artists display their wares. Saturday mornings, starting at 8:30 am, Zumba enthusiasts fill one of the basketball courts, stepping and stretching to lively Latin rhythms. Visitors to San Miguel are welcome to join in; money collected is donated to a local charity. Evenings, a drum-and-bugle corps practices. Children play on slides and jungle gyms and school-children practice sports and participate in local events. Parque Juarez is a great place to veiw an authentic slice of San Miguel life.

“A Welcome Urban Oasis”
Reviewed April 19, 2012

This is a welcome green oasis near the center of urban San Miguel. It's a good place for people watching, whether kids in the playground or men and women on the basketball court. On our last night in San Miguel, as we were walking home from dinner, we found ourselves cordially accepted into a wedding party from Mexico City that was celebrating with a large mariachi band, large papier mache figures of a bride and groom, and a burro carrying two saddle bags full of tequila. What's not to like?
