My boyfriend and I have stayed at Casa Luna many times and cannot imagine staying anywhere else in San Miguel de Allende. The grounds are so beautiful, with plants pouring in from every corner, the sounds of water from the multiple fountains and the perfect romance of the rooms and rooftop patio. It is just breathtaking.
The breakfasts can't be beat. Always fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh baked bread, Mexican hot chocolate and coffee and a main dish. In the past we have had oatmeal blueberry pancakes with fresh hot mangos on top, fritatas, huevos rancheros and yummy scrambles. Enjoying your breakfast next to the warm fire is the best way to start your day.
The beds are a dream. I always sleep well. The sheets are soft and the bed is just firm enough to not hurt your back but to still feel like you are sinking in a little bit. The bathtubs are also amazing! Big and deep and usually large enough for two people to enjoy together.
The location couldn't be better as you are only two blocks from the town center but far enough to not hear the noise at all hours.
Both properties are magical and you cannot go wrong with staying at either of them.
Our last time as Casa Luna, we attended a cooking class out at the Rancho which was out of this world! I never wanted to leave! They have a great organic garden and lots of animals on the rancho. The salsas I learned to make are the best I have ever tasted and continue to make today!
Finally, I want to mention the staff. As soon as you walk in, it feels like you are at a friend's house. Dianne, Susana, Lalo, and Tia are excellent hosts. They were always there to answer our questions, lend us a hat or umbrella or arrange an activity.
I wish more hotels and B&Bs were like Casa Luna. I will continue to go there time and time again. It just feels like home to me in San Miguel.
