“My favorite hotel in the whole world”

My boyfriend and I have stayed at Casa Luna many times and cannot imagine staying anywhere else in San Miguel de Allende. The grounds are so beautiful, with plants pouring in from every corner, the sounds of water from the multiple fountains and the perfect romance of the rooms and rooftop patio. It is just breathtaking.

The breakfasts can't be beat. Always fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh baked bread, Mexican hot chocolate and coffee and a main dish. In the past we have had oatmeal blueberry pancakes with fresh hot mangos on top, fritatas, huevos rancheros and yummy scrambles. Enjoying your breakfast next to the warm fire is the best way to start your day.

The beds are a dream. I always sleep well. The sheets are soft and the bed is just firm enough to not hurt your back but to still feel like you are sinking in a little bit. The bathtubs are also amazing! Big and deep and usually large enough for two people to enjoy together.

The location couldn't be better as you are only two blocks from the town center but far enough to not hear the noise at all hours.
Both properties are magical and you cannot go wrong with staying at either of them.

Our last time as Casa Luna, we attended a cooking class out at the Rancho which was out of this world! I never wanted to leave! They have a great organic garden and lots of animals on the rancho. The salsas I learned to make are the best I have ever tasted and continue to make today!

Finally, I want to mention the staff. As soon as you walk in, it feels like you are at a friend's house. Dianne, Susana, Lalo, and Tia are excellent hosts. They were always there to answer our questions, lend us a hat or umbrella or arrange an activity.
I wish more hotels and B&Bs were like Casa Luna. I will continue to go there time and time again. It just feels like home to me in San Miguel.

My family rented two beautiful rooms at Casa Luna B & B in September 08. This is our second trip to San Miguel and Casa Luna. There are two properties one block apart and only a few blocks from the Jardin (the heart of the historical town). You will love either location as we have stayed in both and I would not be able to pick between them.

From the moment we walked through the gated walls and into the flowering courtyard, we were enchanted. You are warmly greeted and shown around the property. A full gourmet Mexican breakfast is served each morning and it is hosted by the knowledgeable and friendly Lalo, Susana, owner, Dianne, and her Aunt Honore known as Tia (Spanish for auntie) An honor bar and light afternoon and evening "snacks" can be ordered and made fresh just for you!

The rooms are beautifully decorated and the bathrooms are huge. Our rooms had both had fireplaces! There is a lounge with TV, books, magazines, comfy furniture and another fireplace to spend some lovely time.

In addition to the Casa Luna B&B, the owner, Dianne, has recently completed her Rancho 15 minutes outside of town. We took a cooking class there as they have a culinary school taught by Kirsten Wiest who is a renown chef and has worked with cookbook author and chef, Rick Bayless, as well has being the chef for Mick Jagger!! whom she says was very nice. Transportation was provided. Dianne has also put in a fully organic vegetable garden that will be used for the cooking school as well as for any events planned at the Rancho. The grounds are movie-set incredible. And the perfect place for renewing vows or a sophisticated wedding or party.

So, come to San Miguel and Casa Luna B&B to let your heart sing!

I've been taking art groups to San Miguel for the last 12 years taking over the entire Casa Luna Quebrada as well as several rooms at Casa Luna. My group of 25 guests spent 6 nights and left wanting more. Lalo and Ernesto, the managers, couldn't do enough for us. Always available and willing to please. Whether printing out recipes of the delicious breakfasts, lugging bags up and down stairs, making reservations, or just generally being congenial, they were top notch. The highlight of our tour was our day at Rancho Casa Luna, the newest lovechild of owner, Dianne Kushner. After touring the organic gardens, stroking the rescue dogs and burros, many of my group delighted in preparing our comida by taking the very entertaining hands on cooking class directed by the skilled chef, Kristen. What a fabulous meal!!! Susana, the general manager, who manages the bookings and helps organize events at both casas is extremely helpful, informative, and willing to help with all the details that make for a successful tour. Oh yeah, did I mention the ambiance?

We just returned from six nights at Casa Luna Quebrada and loved every minute. Our room, Tree Tops, was large, quiet and well appointed with a wonderful balcony overlooking the lovely pool and patio. The staff is very attentive, especially Lalo and Ernesto, and knows everything about the town you need to know. The food could not be better and they make the best margaritas and nachos in town.

We booked a trip to San Miguel at the last minute and had the very good luck to get a spot at Casa Luna which felt more than a retreat than a B&B. Our room had high brick ceilings, gorgeous light fixtures, fireplace, private patio, and comfortable beds. Outside surroundings and public spaces are beautiful and relaxing, and include lush gardens, fountains, and a lap pool. Gerardo the manager and the staff were great -- we always looked forward to coming back after a day of exploring to just hang out. Highest recommendation!

Casa Luna is the most authentically ethnic B&B we have enjoyed any where in the world. The ambience is so comforting and the facilities so comfortable. Quiet and relaxing with your own patio! Isabella presents the best authentic hot breakfasts to start your day. The staff is accommodating to your every need. All this in an enchanting small Spanish Colonial city with a large American ex-pat population this is engaged, intelligent and interesting. San Miguel has jazz and classical presentations, art festivals, museums, folk art and some of the best, quiet restaurants you will find anywhere. There are some good side trips that Dianne or Suzanna can arrange for you. San Miguel is about 6200 ft. with exceptionally good weather year round. There are two Casa Luna – Pila Seca (where we stayed for a week) and Quebrada. Both are exceptional. There is also a ranch facility. Pricewise it is a very good deal. Check out www.casaluna.com for more info.

Just got home yesterday after a truly magical 7 days at Casa Luna Quebrada. Staff's attention to guests is truly 5-star. From the beautifully appointed rooms and suites to the smallest of details (umbrellas by the front door for guests' use) we were delighted with the personal attention. San Miguel is lovely but the highlight of our visit was being emersed in beauty at Casa Lunal
