Great library, cafe, open courtyard, theater, and sala. You can see movies, concerts, and art in an informal atmosphere.

The lbiblioteca is a place to get a fabulous selection of books in English and Spanish. The café is a nice place to have coffee, lunch or dessert. Twice a week there's a drop-in conversational group in both languages. Don't miss the murals in the Sala Cuetzal and the front room. There's a gift shop and a theater that shows movies and a play group performs there as well.

The public library in San Miguel has the largest collection of English books and items of any library in Mexico outside Mexico City. Moreover, there are films and classes, and Atencion (the cultural paper for SMA) is located there. If you are spending a week or so in SMA, you should familiarize yourself with this place. By the way, make sure that you buy Atencion (comes out every Friday) so that you'll know everything that goes on in SMA, and there's a lot!

This is the nerve center for the large Expat American community
Which has given so much to San Miguel. This is a must first stop to all English speaking visitors to San Miguel. Tickets and information for all of the many, many cultural and civic activities are available here. There is a three week internationally famous
Chamber Music Festival every July and August which is sponsored
by the Spanish and American community. There are plays, guitar concerts, and lectures every week in the bibliotheca which is located on insurgentes 2 blocks north of the Jardin. It is the only place to begin your joyful adventure in San Miguel.

Enjoyed a visit to the library, it seems to be the cultural centre of the town. Apart from a reading library it contains a theatre, performance space, courtyard, and small restaurant.
