Under the new management of Martin, the restaurant now serves breakfast and lunch. The food is good, the service is excellent, the atmosphere lovely.

The Biblioteca is bustling with activities and it's a great place to meet locals. Pick up the Attencion (newspaper) to see what 's happening in town with visiting musicians and artists.

This is the largest collection of English language books in Mexico and and hub of the expat community. Good cappuccino in the garden ---the place to buy tickets for lectures and concerts--stop here first on your visit to this lovely city

Robert de Gast is a photographer known for his photographs of the doors, windows, and house numbers of San Miguel - no two of which are alike. He clearly loves San Miguel and the creativity of its people, as expressed on the outside walls of their homes and buildings - all that the public has access to.

De Gast gave a charming, light-hearted lecture (with many slides to illustrate) at La Biblioteca, which I attended one afternoon. He apparently is a frequent lecturer, and also conducts tours, which begin at the library.

Not to be missed, if your timing is right!
