One of the best beds I've ever slept in - king size with pillow top mattress covered in the most luxurious sheets. The handful of rooms face an open courtyard. We worried that this might be noisy, but out of the 5 hotels we stayed at during our cross-Mexico trip this was by far the quietest. The room was cool, dark, and relaxing with high ceilings and 8' wall mirror. It felt very spa-like. Although the room was incredibly spacious, there aren't surfaces to put your bags and luggage. I loved the shower, it was an over-sized, over-head shower. The nap I had here was so relaxing, I still think about it. When we came back from dinner, we found turn-down service left us cookies.

Terrace is nicely decorated and a very relaxing place to eat breakfast(pastries, fruit, coffee, toast, and guava jam). At times, the sun can be punishing but they have umbrella shades that can be moved throughout the day.

Now, let's talk about Victor. Victor is a sweet angel that quietly and patiently fulfills your every need with a warm smile. The level of service Victor provided was done so pleasantly and thoroughly that we were talking about it for days after the trip. At the next couple of hotels we stayed at, we found ourselves muttering, "well, VICTOR would have been able to ..."

Compared to the 1810 Boutique Hotel, this place is SOO much nicer.

Very friendly, lovely place with a inner outdoor courtyard and a beautiful, sunny rooftop with great views. Our room opened up into a courtyard (#3) with a queen bed, great shower (no bathtub) and adequate storage for clothes. We opted not to stay in the room near the front because of possible noise from the road. It's located on a quiet street, but motorcycles, taxis, and cars zip by pretty frequently. The entire city is mostly cobblestone which does slow vehicles somewhat but if you are light sleeper this may cause some interruptions. On Friday night there was music playing somewhere until about 2:00 am. It probably would have been much more disturbing at the front of the hotel. Breakfast is complimentary toast, pastry, juice, coffee and fruit free. Eggs and other entrees are available for purchase. I believe you get one complimentary margarita and any additional drinks are charged. Turn down service included two little pastries on the nightstand which was nice and bottles of water. Turn down service does not happen if the "do not disturb" sign is on your door just to let you know. I probably would have rated this hotel five stars if the room had been a little more luxurious for the price we paid.

This weekend we stayed at Casa de los Olivos boutique hotel in San Miguel, it's a small very well located in the center of this town, only 4 blocks from the cathedral.

The rooms are simple, organic and beautiful, the bed is super confortable and with premium bedding.

The hotel has a bakery and a restaurant one block walking distance which are amazing! The bakery is a traditional European one with premium quality and the restaurant has international cuisine, beautiful decorated and with options for everyone.

I definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning a visit to San Miguel!!!!

My wife and I stayed in Casa de Los Olivos. It is just 2 blocks from main square, San Miguel Parróquia and Jardín plaza. We stayed in a room with a King size bed. Rooms is big and spacious. Just there is a lack of surfaces to put things, tie shoes or get dressed. No furniture besides bed and wardrobe. You have to use the bed as sofa, as shelves, etc The same for the bathroom. There is a lack space to put things for shaving, etc.
Wifi worked ok
Hotel staff is very friendly and ready to solve any doubts or service. There is a nice Terraza where you can have the welcome margaritas or breakfast. Nearby there are excellent restaurants.
Two comments not so good: Smoking is allowed in the main garden. Rooms are all around this garden, so smoke gets into rooms. Smoking should be allowed just in the terraza and on the street. Also on the main garden there is music most of the day.. These two things are a no-no's for a Boutique Hotel.
