Rosewood San Miguel de Allende
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed January 2, 2014

It is stunning. The property is built new but in classic Hacienda style - beautiful gardens, the restaurants have innovative cuisine with fresh local ingredients - we enjoyed New Year's day brunch with fresh hand-crafted taco stations. The service is excellent. The room is nicely furnished with its own terrace and fire place. Friendly staff and perfect location in a quiet area but minutes walk to town square.

This was our very first visit to San Miguel and we are very happy to have been able to stay at Rosewood. Everyone on the property was extremely kind. From the front desk to the roof top terrace every one was gracious and kind, they always greeted us by our name.

We traveled with our toddler, which was added to the reservation. What a nice surprise to have found an actual crib with toys, they also had a baby bather and a robe. What a nice to touch for parents traveling with little ones. The room was large and the terrace was really big. Lots of running room for our toddler.

All thought it wasn’t too hot we still went out to enjoy the pool. They have several different pools which must be good for busy summer days to keep the spaces from getting too crowded. We were the only family in the pool and I was disappointed when the bartender took an extremely long time to get our drinks outs. We took them back to the room as he took way too long.

We ordered room service and although they missed a few items from the order, they were good about getting out quickly. We had breakfast and dinner at their 1826 Restaurant, although the menu is not extensive the food was absolutely delicious. We had the pleasure of being able to enjoy cocktails at their Luna Rooftop Bar and enjoy the sunset. The views from the rooftop are beautiful.

This hotel is walking distance from the shopping market which we took full advantage of. We walked there everyday and enjoyed the scenery.

Bottom line, if you visit San Miguel this would be the perfect hotel to stay at.

Was here for a business meeting. They have excellent facilities, great food, and very nice rooms. Great location. About a 15 minute walk to the main cathedral square. Wear sturdy shoes for the cobblestone roads.

The rooftop bar at sunset is one of the most excellent, surreal, experiences of all! Do not miss this.

I would love to go back for a romantic weekend.

Earlier this year we had the pleasure not only of staying in this beautiful hotel but also to get married there. From beginning to end our experience at Rosewood San Miguel was flawless. We were treated like we were the only guests staying in the hotel. Without a doubt this is the best hotel in Mexico. The architecture, the styling, the ambience and most important the service are a 10/10! Well done Rosewood, you went above and beyond with this property!

Hotel is very high standard in every respect. (Too many Americans with dogs everywhere - like the Americans, hate that they think they need to take their dogs everywhere.). Grounds are fantastic. Restaurant food and service is great, although a bit overpriced ( More Americans with dogs than Mexicans.). Rooftop bar has outstanding views, drinks are small and overpriced.

Spectacular hotel with magnificent rooms and impecable service. A seamless blend of old Mexico and modern amenities as well as a blend of a boutique hotel and a 5 star top notch inn. No question it is the best option in downtown San Miguel.

Spectacular open air roof top terrace, multiple indoor/outdoor gathering/dining spots. Beautiful immaculate grounds & pool. Really everywhere you look is lovely and tasteful. A blend of old style with modern technology and amenities. Great wireless! Our terrace suite was spacious and well appointed. Service was over and beyond---as on my very first day exploring the city...I fell and got a badly twisted ankle. (Note: sidewalks and streets are very narrow- mostly cobblestones) They helped with a loaner wheel chair, securing crutches and just generally bending over backwards to assist us. Ernesto, the driver that helped with airport pick-up/departure, was great! Renate, in the reception area, was very gracious. All the servers in the 1826 dining room and the roof top lounge were very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend this unique property. Even after my mishap-couldn't imagine a lovelier place to start my recovery.

Room Tip: Having the extra large terrace with the roof-top king suite was great! The weather in San Miguel is...
