Lovely experience and great fun! First, Stan waited for our flight which had been delayed and picked us up for a very reasonable rate. We stayed in a large comfortable room with a new walk in shower;. Breakfast was served on the patio, and Julie planned our day. These are the kind of people I always wanted to know; a Brit and an American who have lived all over the world and contribute each in their own way.
Stan can build anything and has given his" in the neighborhood" home all the conveniences and style. He has done it all.
Julie is a Phd who also traveled the world, a professor and consultant, who is helping the neighborhood, charities like hospice and was asked to teach the police English in order to help the Americans. I could write a book about my 4 day stay with this couple and SMA.
They gave us so many tips on how to get around, what was going on,how to shop, what to wear. We were really taken care of and were able to enjoy a festival, the artists, the beauty and the people of San Miguel as tourists wanting fun, but also a great insight into how everyone is living together and loving it.
One more thing. Julie and Stan were so flexible when our plans changed we feel like we made new friends. What a joy.
