Le Point du Jour
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Stayed here enroute from Calais down to Brittany. Staff were very friendly and helpful in making space to enter the site by moving vehicles. Pitches were smallish but unless you had a motormover you would be very hard pressed to reverse a decent sized caravan into the space. We stayed on a sat night and a group of young French girls camping behind our pitch arrived back in the early hours making lots of noise and paying no respect for other residents. After about an hour the site security came along and gave them 'dogs abuse' for the noise they were making. The drive out of the site heading to Caen thru little villages towing a caravan was very narrow and extremely tight. Take lots of care driving to and from the site with a caravan.

This is an excellently positioned site, with many places to visit locally. You can walk straight onto the beach, or cycle into Merville Plage. A visit to the Merville Battery is a must, with their restored Dakota.
The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. They also organise entertainment. The games evening was excellent, with traditional wooden games.
Pitches are a little on the small side, but we had no problems with a large A class Motorcaravan.

In my opinion this campsite has far to many pitches making access to most pitches very tight, unless you are lucky enough to have a pitch near the beach which are all good size pitches. The camp appears to be mostly residential and i would have to say quite noisy, our neighbour was using a hacksaw at 11:30 at night. The toilets do not have toilet seats, toilet paper or soap. The staff we met were very helpful. The camp is in a nice position on the beach however i have to say unless you have a tent, or small two berth caravan with a motor mover do not consider this camp. We used this site just as a quick stopover after a late night ferry journey and again at the end of our trip prior to catching an early morning ferry but would not bother again.
