“A real home from home, highly recommended”
Reviewed October 12, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We only stayed here for 2 nights, but from the moment we walked through the door we felt so at home, and wished we could have stayed longer. We very much hope to return one day and have already recommended The Cottage to family and friends. We were so pleased to meet the lovely owners who take such a pride in their beautiful cottage, which is finished to a very high standard and very well equipped. The location is beautiful, the views beyond the Church breathtaking. And the pub, just a few steps from the front door, is friendly, welcoming and serves delicious locally sourced food. Would recommend breakfast there! Communication when booking was also excellent and very efficient.

“Beautifully Presented Cottage perfect for a getaway”
Reviewed August 21, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This cottage really is lovely, we stayed with 2 Adults and Two older children aged 10 and 9 and it was great. Really well equipped, lovely and clean and such a fab location, great to see and tour the Yorkshire Moors. The village also has a great pub The Royal Oak which does good food and breakfast so you do not even have to cook, just stroll along and eat out.

Liked best: The location and presentation of the property
Liked least: For small children the stairs are steep, however all cottages of this type are the same.

“Lovely, clean and well presented cottage”
Reviewed June 20, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Good cottage, well equipped with quality equipment. Exceptionally clean with attention to detail. Good quality towels, oven, shower, etc.
The location is very peaceful, and ideally located for walking holidays.
Probably one of the best we have stayed in
The staircase is a bit steep and therefore perhaps needs to be thought about for the very elderly or very young children

Stayed for a long weekend booked fairly last minute. Very quirky charming cottage with everything you could need.
With the heating on as soon as we arrived the place was soon lovely and warm and the log fire made for a cosy night in!!
Lovely drives out across the north Yorks moors. Within minute the views are stunning!!
Would definitely recommend!

“Lovely rural cottage”
Reviewed November 26, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We had an enjoyable weekend at the cottage. It was as shown on the internet. The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge was ideal for a cosy night in. The owner was helpful and there was a nice welcome pack on arrival. The cottage was cold at times but it is November. We were on a cycling weekend as the property is near some good cycle tracks - so would recommend it for that. Shame there isn't anywhere to put cycles at the cottage itself. We would definitely go again.

Reviewed October 25, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We stayed at The Cottage Gillamoor for a week over New Year 2013/14. Really cannot fault the cottage. Small, but perfectly formed, with loads of character and attention to detail. Very well kitted out which made self catering a pleasure. We loved the location as well and did some beautiful walks from the cottage. Also a good base for exploring the rest of Yorkshire. Thank you so much!
