This zoo has had some bad press over the years, but I can say that we had a great day out here. the animals look well looked after, and there was some excellent viewing places to get that special photo. we had chance to feed the giraffes and lemurs, which is available at the entrance with a feeding wristband. the staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable.

We visited on 1st November and had to wait a bit to get in because of lack of staff. However, we got to feed the jaguars and the giraffes. We fed 6 of us in the cafe and all in all the day probably cost us around £100 including food, entrance and the feeding experiences.
The kids loved it and we can't wait to go back and explore some more. I would definitely recommend going if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed. The staff were really nice and helpful.
Can't wait to go back.

I visited with my partner just before halloween, free entry with a carved pumpkin! Great day out, saw many animals and managed to get up and close with many animals for photos! Most animals looked well, although we did see a meerkat with a some kind of back injury, maybe a skin infection.
I have been twice to this safari zoo and would recommend to anyone in the area.

We took our 6 year old grandson to the zoo last Friday - great weather and apart from a bit of a wait to get in (it was Free Admission Friday - lovely surprise) and he loved it. Very interactive experience with lemurs, birds and other small animals. He's animal crazy so wants to go back to do the big cat feeding experience when he's 7 next year and have his birthday party there. That says it all really!

I took my 3 year old to the Zoo last Friday and we absolutely loved it. Staff were friendly, the playground is amazing and all of the animals were easily visible for my 3 year old. We had something to eat in the restaurant for lunch which was very reasonable also. All the keepers were friendly when we stopped and asked them questions.

Can't wait to go back at Christmas for the Santa specials

Got some cheap tickets on the internet so thought worth a trip and wasn't disappointed. Animals seem well cared for and have plenty of room. Nice that some of animals roam free. Ideal for young children. Older teens were a bit bored

We arrived on Friday of the half term holidays and queued for an hour to get in. It was ridiculous to only have one lady on the tills, for both the shop area and the arrivals area at the same time. We were ready for going home before we started. I'm glad we didn't leave though. It was a lovely few hours looking around the animals, playing on the playground and having a ride on the train. The few staff who were around were so helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for us, even though they were clearly rushed off their feet. We had a great time and after the initial hold up it was free entry! We had already purchased tickets online before hand but we can use those tickets another time apparently. Well worth a visit. Lets hope they find a few more staff members next time.

We went in torrential rain which was horrible but we did the big cat experience with Gavin that was amazing. He knew his facts, he made it fun and it was clear he loved those animals. Would definitely recommend it. We also got to feed a lemur and a giraffe!! Best experience.

Came on first day of the reduced pricing in November. Large queues due to lack of ticketing staff. The lad on the ticket till was called away to feed the giraffes leaving one girl on the desk and she was then via radio told to go to the restaurant and help out and had to tell them if she goes there would be no one on the ticket desk.
On walking around the park we could see no staff whatsoever available to either ask questions or to help if any incidents broke out. No staff at all where the lemurs and spider Monkeys mingle with the public was a big concern. The only member of staff we saw was the person putting the meat out for the lions and tigers etc.
The restaurant was very pricey for adult food with very little choice and sparce staff. We just wanted a soup and was told the only button on the till available was for soup and a sandwich so we were told we could not have soup on its own.
Our main concern however was the distinct lack of any staff in the zoo area. This obviously concerned us as to the welfare and safety of the animals and also the safety of the public.
I believe the zoo inspectors should keep a very close eye on the welfare of the animals at this Zoo including staffing levels.
We have been before and enjoyed. The standards have worryingly slipped.
Very concerning.

Hi Stephen

We had a problem with admission staff sickness on the day of your visit and I am sorry if it impacted on your wait time on arrival. Staff are in contact with each other and any questions anyone has anyone will be able to help out.

This was our third visit to the Zoo and despite the weather being challenging we had a lovely time. My partner bought me the Red Panda Experience for my birthday and what an experience it was! Tink and Pan were delights and getting so close to them was a dream come true for me. The cubs were cuddled up & chilling in their box, we had a look in to make sure they were ok and left them some apples to munch on.
Gavin (the keeper) was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. He answered all of our questions and spoke about conservation and the work they do at the Zoo. Overall a great day and I would highly recommend the Red Panda Experience... or even just a visit to the Zoo :)
