Of all the beaches around this one is the most accessed one. Most of the boats to visit the natural coral swimming pools depart from here. There are many ugly constructions in front of it. Still it's clean and quiet. Worth a visit if you're in a bigger group of people and need a place with a bit more of infrastructure.

Weekdays are quiet. Interesting to observe the fishermen bring in their catch. On weekends it becomes a picnic and beach party gathering. However that doesn't spoil it as the atmosphere is very festive and gives a taste of Brazilian beach culture. With such a long expanse of beach you'll always find a spot of your own if you want to avoid others.

Porto da Rua is the small village near Amendoeira and other pousadas and the beach is similar to others in the region: great. But the good thing is that at Porto da Rua there are small restaurants, like Bar do Tibiro, where you can drink a cold beer, eat great (and cheap) sea food and enjoy.

There are several restaurantes here and nice places to walk, but there has been a lot of beach erosion. There is a wonderful charming inn (pousada) and a few other decent places to stay. In that sense it is an interesting spot for those that want to get away from it all with some services in walking distance.
