Picturesque is not the word for this little slice of heaven dropped in Offaly. As a group of us headed south from Dublin for a weekend away we did not know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by the warmest of welcomes from everyone in the Giltraps pub. The finest pints in the most homely of atmospheres, it really was like stepping into a postcard. The food was delicious, the drink plentiful and the scenery is class. Well worth a trip

Thanks for the review Bourkey55.
We're glad that you and your group enjoyed their stay in Kinnitty so much. In March 2014, we hope to open our 'Glamping' facility which will include Log Cabins as well as Mongolian Yurts. We will also be offering a range of activity packages which could be ideal four your group to make a return trip. If you have any questions regarding the glamping please feel free to send us an email or check out www.theglendine,com.
All the best,
John

We were attending Wedding in Kinnity Castle stayed at Glendine. Its location in the centre of Kinnity was fab. We had 4 rooms and all rooms were far better than we expected. Good size, clean and beds comfy. The staff were waiting to check us in and made tea and sandwiches They went out of their way to give an Irish welcome. Breakfast was superb. however we did not have the time to take the eggs from the henhouse. The price was very competitive for middle of summer. All the staff were helpful and friendly. I very much recommend the Glendine

Room Tip: All rooms are perfect No 1 is nearest the stairs

A group of us stay here when at a wedding in Kinnity Castle. The rooms were a good size, clean and simple. The experience was elevated to a higher status by the staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They were helpful, friendly and refreshingly accommodating of our requests. The breakfast was also excellent.

Our room was a little cold, but I wouldn't hold that against it.

Double rooms are nice and large. Price was 35,- Euros pps.
Unfortunately there was plastic sheets under the bed/pillow sheets which I hate and removed.
The Bistro was closed, only place to go for a bite was the Kinnitty Hotel. I liked the place per se because there's not that many tourists.

Thanks you for the review IrishKraut. Despite it being posted in 2008, we have made a conscious decision to respond to each and every one of the reviews posted to TripAdvisor. Since your stay with us all those years ago, there have been so many changes to the business that you would hardly recognise it as the same place that you visited, even the name has changed from The Glendine to Giltraps Townhouse & Glamping. If you are ever in the area, we would love to invite you to view what we now have to offer compared to all those years ago. You might even decide to stay for a couple of nights!!
All the best,
