What a fantastic location at Spylaw. Andy and Lorna gave us a warm welcome and gave us all the information we needed. They provided us with delicious homemade scones jam and cream so nicely presented, also home made bread, and their own farm laid fresh eggs. The cottage was so nice the bedroom so lovely, and comfy beds, the living room and kitchen so well equipped. There's everything you could possibly need, games for the children DVDs and outdoor things like balls bats tennis racquets and so on, and a nice play area in the garden for the children plus a nice patio with table and chairs. The Spectacular views of the open countryside are breathtaking. Our grandchildren loved the animals. Isaac was mesmerized by the closeness of the sheep to the cottage, he loved them, Dominic loved to go to see the pigs too. Spylaw is situated ideally to get to all the locations round this part of Northumberland, and the fly fishing at nearby Chatton is a must if you are a fly fisher person, We had a brilliant week and would not hesitate at coming back again. We already have recommended Spylaw to everybody. Many thanks to Andy and Lorna. Dave Alton and family.

We stayed for five nights self-catering at Cuddy's Croft in July. The cottage is very light, clean and uncluttered, and in a beautiful location. Andy and Lorna were very welcoming, and little personal touches only added to the pleasure of staying there.... home-baked scones with jam and cream on our arrival and home-made bread and eggs. All the facilities were great, and we had everything we needed in the cottage. Exploring the little small-holding at the back is fun, and the cottage is a good base for trips to the coast and elsewhere. On our last night we ordered a meal from our hosts, which was served in our kitchen/diner. Beautiful food, and no need to worry about driving home afterwards! Altogether a brilliant stay, and we would highly recommend it. Just wish we could be back there again! Hazel and Chris
Found a discount deal for a 2 night midweek stay which were the exact dates we wanted for my birthday. Absolutely loved our stay at the farm :) the little touches were lovely! Fresh eggs, bread, scones with jam and cream and a bottle of prossecco upon arrival! Amazing views from the cottage, enjoyed feeding the animals. Plenty of places to take the dog just wish we'd stay another night to get another days exploring in. Would definitely recommend Andy & Lorna's cooking! Restaurant standard in the comfort of your own cottage. Wonderful friendly hosts, look forward to seeing you again soon!
We have just returned from a week's break staying in Cuddy's Croft. The cottage is spotless and stylishly comfortable. We felt immediately at home ,I hesitate to stay somewhere that is'nt up to my 'home standards'.
A meal was organised for our arrival -starter of Lorna's homemade pheasant pate with trimmings,
followed by Spylaw pork steak in sauce with generous portions of salad freshly picked ,potatoes with dressing and again their own dish of beetroot. What a lovely start to the holiday.
Andy and Lorna were attentive ,however, not obtrusive. They were wonderful hosts.
The location is peaceful ,a short drive to coastal paths,we enjoyed watching the animals what a bonus it would be for children to be able to feed them with Andy.
I found Spylaw on google purely by accident that was a lucky find it's a hidden gem.I have been spreading the word
As thank you presents for our neighbours we ordered rhubarb and carrot cakes to take home.Lorna delivered the warm cakes to the car, on our journey home we were truly tested by the aroma of home baking, the cakes just about made it!
We stayed for two nights in July on a Bed and Breakfast basis at Spylaw Farm. Lorna and Andy were very welcoming and great hosts. The cottage was lovely, meeting all our needs and the food was beautifully cooked and so well presented. It's really well equipped with everything you could think of. The location is very peaceful and the tranquility is something very special. Well done Andy and Lorna
This was our second stay in Cuddy's Croft since a great trip in 2012. We stayed three nights in May with our dog and found Lorna and Andy as welcoming as before, with great cakes, vegetables and fruit on offer and a fascinating tour of the farm and bee hives. The location is very tranquil and a great base for exploring the local area. On our first trip we visited Lindisfarne, Cragside and Alnwick, this time we visited the Farne isles, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Hadrian's Wall. We are looking forward to returning soon.
