“A country gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

While the building is not notable, the room was very comfortable and the food was unexpectedly excellent, making this a very good place to stay when visiting historic Ribchester, a Roman town, or walking the scenic Ribble Valley.

Set in nice countryside on the edge of Ribchester, I stayed one night recently and would certainly go back. The room was good, clean with free Wifi and modern TV and good value for money. The food was excellent with very attentive and pleasant staff. The cooked breakfast was exellent. Essentially, nothing to complain about at all !

This was my first visit to the Ribchester Arms, upon arriving and having already booked a table, we waited 5 minutes before being taken to our table. Having a baby with us, we were very pleased to have a table which already had a high chair in place and cutlery available to feed my son. The food was lovely and the staff were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. The one thing that stood out was how attentive they were with my young son, nothing was too much trouble (which is very rare these days when taking children out). Would definetly return :0)

Went for a meeting at the Ribchester Arms and came back later for a quiet drink with colleagues. The food is was a pre-arranged buffet lunch, but really tasty options, offering traditional sandwiches as well as much needed hot food on a rainy day.
The athmosphere in the bar was quiet, but cozy, really good for a friendly chat.

First time we have eaten at the Ribchester Arms on the recommendation of other family members and I can say their recommendation was spot on.
The staff were attentive and helpful. The menu wide and varied and caters for all types and supplemented with a specials menu. Food arrived in good time and was piping hot and extremely tasty. I was surprised that the selection of veg with my choice was in fact a side dish with 5 different veg. Not often you get that elsewhere!!!
If you just want plain old pub grub this is not the place to go. A little more pricey than an 'average' pub, but well worth it for well cooked, well presented and tasty fare.

I stayed here on January 21st 2012 with my fella using the accommodation facilities as we were eating at Angels Restaurant and the Ribchester Arms was a short taxi ride away. The pub is a great country pub which is large and accommodating. The staff on arrival were very helpful and friendly. The room was a large double which was comfy with a large bed and adequate bathroom with shower over the bath and a good size. The only downside was the boiler had broken some days before and the room was initially cold but Leon the licensee soon sorted that with some extra heaters and in notime the room was toasty warm. We had a drink in the very well stocked bar at night and again was overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff. In the morning the English breakfast was a welcome start to the morning. The food was great and Leon was attentive and couldnt do enough for us! The room was very reasonably priced
Overall a lovely country pub with friendly staff that really make you welcome, we will definately return and either eat there for a change or eat else where and just stay there. Either way we will return to see Leon and the staff.

Stayed here for one night whilst attending a function nearby.

Comfortable bedroom - nice clean bathroom with plenty of towels.

Had to leave early in the morning so couldn't take advantage of a cooked breakfast but the continental was more than adequate.

Recommended.
